Really nice gallery with some great Pop Art (the largest collection outside of London, apparently). The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. And it's free.

It is my favourite place in Wolverhampton. The exhibitions change on a regular basis. They are a mix of contemporary and more traditional art. There is something for everyone. The staff and volunteers are friendly and helpful. The restaurant is very popular and serves lovely food.

So. Been here before. Was okay. Came here again. Wasn't okay. Two stars are only because the Gallery liked the photo I took from outside. Prior to taking the photo, a security looking/maintenance man stopped me and put his hand out like he was begging for change. Apparently, he thought I'd stole a lip balm. About 90 seconds earlier, Iifted the lip balm which slipped out of the sleeve. I opened it as I didn't know what it was. I replaced it immediately. I advised the security/cleaner to be sure of what he was saying. He wasn't sure. I left and came back, giving him search options. He gave me the 'cavity search' look so I'm glad he declined. No apology. Will I come back? Of course I will. Most of the staff are nice. Food is decent and so is the art.

Visited on Friday afternoon. First visit, so didn't know what to expect. Was pleasantly surprised by the modern building and the displays on view. There was a collaborative glass exhibition when we went - which was really good. Its a small art gallery, yet I felt that it had a breadth of exhibits that would interest a wide audience. The exhibits change out on a regular basis. Best thing is that the entrance is FREE! Though it is nice to give a donation at the end of your visit. Some good quality items in the gift store.

The Art Gallery provide fantastic sessions for early years where children can play, create, explore and learn through art, craft and other great resources. Look at the website for family events, they are well worth going to and great value for money, will most definitely be revisiting over the years to come with my little one

I attended a Workshop at the Art Gallery called Tootia and Stories! We decorated coconuts with materials and talked about forgotten crafts.
This work is part of Caroline Walkers painting of Invisible Women at the BAS9 in Wolverhampton. I found it very interesting!

Great free art gallery and museum. Located in the middle of the city. Nice and clean with decent exhibits. Also had a cafe in the top floor which is reasonable. Music exhibition was taking place focusing on local bands and artists

The new cafe inside Wolverhampton Art Gallery looks very inviting. However the shortage of staff means that waiting time to order is far too long, the staff are harassed, which results in orders being late and wrong and although they were apologetic, the experience I had was disappointing. We arrived before 1pm. I queued for at least 15 mins to order two meals and two drinks. I explained that we wanted two meals from the specials board, both the same. I had to explain it at least twice. It was just two people having the same meal and two coffees. The waitress then came back to our table and asked me if I wanted two samosas. I explained again, no, it was two portions, so two meals with two samosas on each meal. At 1.45pm two meals arrived at our table, but they were not what I ordered. So then we had to wait again and eventually at 1.55pm the meals arrived. Tasty and well presented but simply too late for us to enjoy. We ate quickly and I had to leave half of mine. The staff apologised and gave us free cake to take away. For £20.50 for lunch I thought the whole experience was expensive and very inefficient. I would have asked for my money back but I didn’t have time to wait again.Sort out your staffing, get organised and reduce your prices. The samosas we ordered would have cost a few pence each so to charge £8.95 is over the top. Would I visit again? Not unless I could be assured of better service.

Hi there
The gallery is free. They sometimes have a special area of art or an exhibit where there may be a small fee. Entrance to most or often all is free. Birmingham also has a fabulous art gallery which is also free.
