I purchased a 2 hour session for my husband to learn how to drive his Toyota Hilux as an off road experience. We were greeted by Grant on our arrival and right away I knew we were in great hands. He had read up on the particular model of truck which we found impressive and right away he gave lots of information about the truck's performance and possible capabilities.
Grant's way of teaching was really good and he made everything very understandable. The actual off-road track was great as well and the 2 hours flew past. Thank you very much for the experience - you made my hubby Bill very happy!

I was bought this experience by my children on my 70th birthday.
Our instructor Paul was brilliant . Certainly taught this" old dog new tricks" .
Great time and enjoyed .
Vehicle we used was a JEEP a useful bit of kit
Recommend for anyone needing to drive off road or just for an adrenalin rush.

We had such an amazing time on a quad for two experience. The guy who took us out, Paul, was ace and made us feel at ease and in safe hands.
The scenery was amazing….we hadn’t even anticipated seeing such beautiful views!
The course through the fields and woods was beautiful and great fun going through puddles and ducking under branches.
We would thoroughly recommend this to anyone. True Grip are a really genuine, great value for money, bespoke experience who ensure you really do get the most out of your visit.

Bitterly disappointed!
I booked the offroad experience as a anniversary gift to my partner. Before the experience could take place True Grip went into administration. After countless emails and phone calls (no answer) I am still yet to receive a response other then a generic email.
Virgin Experience Days are taking absolutely no responsibility and are not willing to refund me or provide any form of credit. "We are merely the voucher providers and bookings are not made with us but directly with the supplier. However, we do hope our suppliers will be as flexible as possible in regards to your re-booking due given the circumstances".
How could the booking be rebooked if the company no longer exists!!!??

I really really enjoyed this experience. Paul, my instructor, was patient, informative and above all friendly and professional. I especially liked how this experience was both a fun day out and an opportunity to learn a new skill. I came away feeling as though I had just received a training cours, which explains why True Grip are chosen by the armed forces and the emergency services to train some of their personnel in off road driving. I would definitely do this again and I would feel confident about seeking a higher level of challenge after completing this half day of driving. I would recommend at least half a day as you get to drive 2 cars with differing levels of technological capability. The Ford Ranger has a lot more features which is great for getting the feel for this kind of driving while the 1994 Land Rover gives you the chance to take charge of the drive a lot more.

Got a voucher for my birthday and so did my mate, we shared an experience which actually worked out really well.
Paul the instructor was great, had a wealth of knowledge and an excellent way of explaining things. He was very accommodating for all our questions and hesitations. I would recommend this to anyone with an interest in driving not to mention anyone with a 4x4 who wants to learn how to use it to its full potential.

We turned up and our instructor Dave knew our names and introduced himself as soon as we had gotten out of the car. They checked our temperature and provided us with hand sanitiser and disposable PPE if required. We had a nice drive in a 4x4 up to the start of the track. After a little while practising on the quad bikes we got started! It was myself and parter with Dave the instructor so he was able to spend time monitoring us to provide us with the best experience based on our quad biking skills. He knew we were comfortable so he took us around the more challenging parts of the track which was brilliant! He stopped to let us take in the beautiful views and took some nice photos for us to remember the day by. He was very friendly, patient and informative and he made us feel very comfortable and capable. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 hour session and would highly recommend any activity with True Grip as they have a great team and no matter who you have as your instructor, you are in very good hands. We had another instructor, Grant, teaching another couple alongside us to begin with and he was also very kind and patient. I can’t wait to come back and bring more people with me! Thank you very much for a Sunday well spent having fun and admiring the beautiful scenery!

don't wait for it to stop raining, the mud and deep water-logged ruts made this experience, just brilliant. 1 x 19 year old and a 60 year old and we had a blast. The guide, Paul W does this part time, retired and flys a plane so pretty cool ensured we kept a steady and safe pace.
The location is in 3,000 acres of open land, quarry and woods, apparently on a clear day you can see France, we saw le mud!

I have been wanting to get into 4x4 off road / Green Lane driving for a little while now and decided it would be best to try an experience day first.
I used my 32nd birthday as an excuse to book it. I had a good search around on loads of different experience pages and couldn't find one that offered the same value for money as this one did. So I couldn't resist and booked it with my dad coming along for the ride...
On the day we turned up and was greeted by a friendly face and as we were early after a quick toilet stop and a chat outside we met Dave. Dave was to be my instructor for the day and one of his first questions was: what would I like to get from the half day session? after I explained I wanted some knowledge and a good bit of fun he took the time to explain to me some of the different types of 4wd and also the way they operate and how they are best utilised whilst off road. This was very helpful and I feel set the day up nicely as I put the theory into practice over the off road course.
Everything was explained well and you weren't just told what to do you you were advised what is best practice, safest and easiest following SLAP. He instructed me over many inclines and declines and even across a 30° ledge. All of which was very achievable for someone with no off road experience with his coaching.
The only unfortunate thing for the day is the fact I have to go home to my wife and explain it hadn't satisfied my urge to want a 4x4 it has only increased it a lot.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it in a heartbeat. This is a great independent centre that is specialist rather than a jack of all trades they are clearly masters of what they do. I am so glad I booked with true grip and my dad is now looking at different options for activities to book up as well

Had an amazing afternoon we arrived early so we sat outside in the sun & had a picnic. After signing in & getting kitted up we then had a training session on the quads, one of my group had never been before so Paul W was very good and gave extra time for them to gain confidence. I absolutely loved being out on the quad riding around the countryside the views are amazing and Paul W was very knowledgeable of the area & all the staff were friendly, I would definitely recommend & I would go again!

Hi, my partner and his brother are doing the quad biking experience, I am just wondering if there is anywhere for me to sit and wait for them to finish like a cafe or am I able to sit in the carpark? Thanks :)

I id not see this sorry until now. There is a room with tea and coffee facilities there but am unsure as to whether you can wait there for them to return.

Hi all, my boyfriend and I have a quad bike adventure to booked at True Grip and I am looking for accommodation, not too pricey, for one night; clean, good bed and somewhere good to go in the evening for dinner and couple drinks (good wine), can anyone recommend anything? :0)

Faversham is about 25 minutes away and you can stay in Shepard Neame's flagship pub called The Sun, I've not stayed there but the restaurant is good and there are plenty of pubs around the town. Have you checked out the Airbnb website? If you are real foodies there is an excellent restaurant with rooms at Faverham on the A2 called Reads.
