AMAZING!
Jul 2021 • Friends
We visited with our son and his girlfriend. We had a fantastic time. Monica looked after us mainly. But the othe members of the team were very friendly. I also chatted with the team in the kitchen who were also very friendly.
The food and drinks were amazing. What a fantastic place. I only wish there was one nearer to were we live. It was a shame we missed out on the tour due to covid. Though we did sample the different drinks (twice) they had and they were all amazing. Everyone should visit this place.

Strawberry Lager
Jun 2021 • Couples
Once again Curious Brewery has become our favourite place now that we re allowed out and I’ve become a beer drinker! Having never liked any form of lager/ beer it is a complete revelation for me ( especially as a gin or wine drinker only ) and today was amazing with a Strawberry lager ! No nothing like a milkshake or dessert, the most amazing lager with just a delicate strawberry taste , sadly I could only have a small one as driving, but my husband who drinks pints found it difficult to stop at 2 !
So for great beer, lovely food and a super team who always make you feel welcome why would you go anywhere else !

We visited Friday night with friends, the staff were so friendly and efficient, the food was absolutely amazing. There was a little issue with the chicken being left of my chicken chaser salad, but was sorted quickly and was only due to the staff being too efficient and taking the order before the chicken had been put on, it wasn’t a problem for me but the staff were apologetic and didn’t charge for my meal. Overall a fantastic experience and we will be back. One slight criticism is the menu is very limited especially if you don’t like fish.

Excellent food and drinks
Jun 2021 • Friends
Planned a trip with work friends and it did not disappoint. Thoroughly enjoyed the food and drinks and service was brilliant. We were initially placed on the high stalls but as I am heavily pregnant, the staff were able to move us when requested. They were extremely friendly and accommodating.
Atmosphere was lovely and would 100% recommended.

Limited drinks and food menu poor service
Jun 2021 • Couples
We booked a table for lunch on a Friday - rare day off together and looking forward to returning after lockdown. We were seated in the restaurant which was dark and lacked any atmosphere seating more like a canteen!
Having looked at the menu drinks first they had a limited choice of wine and both IPAs my husband requested they didn’t have! On a Friday before a busy weekend??!! The menu was limited to say the least snd then when my husband did choose a drink he was told the pipes were being flushed through- surely this should have been done before the bar opened?! Anyway we got up and left and won’t be rushing back until they’ve sorted out the service!

Hi Rachel, Thanks so much for taking the time to review your visit to The Curious Brewery. I arrived at around 3pm so I personally missed your visit, I have however spoken to the manager who was on duty and I did notice that the lights were not on as soon as I arrived, this was regretfully a 'Human error'. We are currently in the process of changing our menu so we have the correct selection available, please understand that since re-opening our Brewery has not been able to brew the Brut IPA or the West Coast IPA, however we did have the three special beers available as well as our core range. I am sorry your visit coincided with our Cellar maintenance, this was a routine visit but our engineer was having an issue with the Cuvee line, hence the reason we had to remove it from being available. I'm so sorry that your visit was spoilt by this culmination of issue but I would very much like the chance to make it up to you, if you could email me personally joe@curiousbrewery.com I wold be incredibly grateful. Thanks and best wishes, Joe

Sunday lunch
Jun 2021
Not sure what to write about this place to be honest. The food we got was very good. I ordered my starter and main, and five minutes later the waitress comes back and tells me they haven’t got those things on the menu. The menu isn’t huge, so you would think with only about four starters and six mains to choose from, that they would all be available to order. When three of us got our mains you could here one of the chefs saying oops he forgot to prepare the fourth dish so came five minutes later. The restaurant wasn’t even busy with only about 15 people eating.
With it being a brewery they didn’t have all the beers to try, missing the tank beers and two of the ipa’s.
The food we did get was very good but, definitely something missing in the place.

Outstanding

Outstanding food and outstanding service. Kitchen and wait staff are very switched on for allergies! Everything is just as good as pre covid times, just with a slightly smaller menu in terms of starters/beer snacks.

Strongly recommend.

Excellent, despite...

Fantastic food, service and staff. I have been many times to the Curious Brewery, either for food or a drink. A great place! I was not aware of the Sunday roast menu prior to coming so was pleasantly surprised. We did experience a slight issue with one of the mains and I am not one to let loose but the issue was handled very professionally by the waiting staff and management. The bill was adjusted without any prompt from myself which was greatly appreciated by my wife, who had been on the receiving end of the issue. These things do happen by accident and although greater care should be taken, this will not detract from any future plans to visit. Keep it up!!!

State of the art brewery offering great food and drink in a relaxed setting
Oct 2020
We had dinner here with friends in the restaurant on a Friday night and are big fans of all the Chapel Down wines and beers. Its location right next to the station is very convenient and the design of the building is distinctly industrial with an open plan dining room comprising high tables and stools for drinkers, smaller tables and an elevated mezzanine area above the bar. It offers a relaxed environment and it was really good to see the restaurant full but with tables generously and safely spaced. Whilst the menu is a little limited in terms of choice, the quality of the food was exceptional and the specials menu is a welcome addition. The gooey bitterballen with slow cooked beef were superb as were the fish cakes and the burger was no ordinary burger but sourced from a local farm where the cows are fed on spent grain from the brewery with a truly sublime flavour. The crab linguine was fresh and plentiful. All the staff were fantastic and the service was excellent. The offer of three bottles of the Bacchus for £30 at the end of our meal was promptly accepted and the costs added to our bill.
