Interesting church which is much younger than the town itself

Located on the old coaching route that now sees far less traffic this church commands its location with a distinctive style. The interior makes for a good concert space and has been used for public meetings. If the church is open do look inside.

Lovely church
Dec 2020 • Couples
This is a lovely church that’s located in the town centre. The round “spire” makes it stand out as different from others. It is a real gem of church - and that’s from someone who does not visit lots of churches as a matter of course.

Lovely and on the centre of Banbury. Worth visiting and appreciating the beauty yourself.

A lovely Church in the centre of Banbury, had the pleasure of attending a recent wedding held in this fine church. The local stone its built in is soft and colourful.

Warm welcome at St Mary's
Jul 2019 • Friends
We paid a flying visit to St Mary's while in Banbury en route to Waddesdon Manor. It was a very dull rainy day and the outside of the church did not reflect the fantastic interior. It was a mixture of the old type of box pews with doors and up to date paintwork ( liked the colour scheme) and gilding. The stained glass windows are impressive and there are information cards to explain them. We were not able to linger but really enjoyed our visit and were made most welcome by the two ladies manning the church. I would recommend a visit.

Unexpected and unusual charm
Jun 2019 • Couples
Went inside as they were holding a craft fair and glad I did as the interior though in need of TLC was interesting. There is a peaceful place to sit under some wonderful plane trees, almost as spectacular as the church.

Fine unusual round church
Oct 2018 • Couples
Went to 8am Holy Communion here with small congregation but warm welcome. Interesting 17c church much restored late last century with Heritage Lottery funding. Until this month has been shared with the United Reformed Church. Opposite Whately Hall Hotel , and Banbury Cross 100 yards away. Care - you have to pay for car parking all week early to late..
