This place is good but not great. If you need to get some shopping done this is the place. You don't walk in thinking 'wow' you walk in thinking 'ok'

Castle Quay is ok for someone looking to pick up some basic items. There are several of the big retailers represented, you have the likes of M&S, Debenhams and H&M. Owing to the footprint of the building these are no huge in comparison to other shopping centres. Therefore the range is more basic than expansive. In terms of food eateries. The town centre is on the door step and better food options can be found there. Parking is cheap and easy. I prefer Matalan car park and walking through to the centre. There is a multi story that is similarly cheap. It is on the canal side and you can access this to walk down. However, it is a town canal and therefore not as picturesque as it may suggest. There are ok public toilets with baby changing facilities. The centre itself is clean, well kept and on the small side. All in all, it is a good location to nip in and grab some essentials such as basic clothing’s, shoes etc. However for a bigger shopping experience, I would suggest a retail centre at a different location.

We travelled here for a walk around and to test out my father in laws new mobility scooter, it was a welcome environment on what was a very hot day and the layout and facilities were good for a spot of retail therapy with a twist.
Not too many shops to draw the crowds but som nice quaint ones to entice a variety of needs and desires.
Good centre, in need of a bit of a new reinvestment but nice for some low stress shopping.

I have been back to the shopping centre a couple of times recently, and it was nice to visit the centre once again. The place was buzzing when I visited, with lots of people there. Of course, there are the distancing rules to be aware of, but that is not a problem and most people were wearing face coverings. Most of the regular shops were open, but it is a great shame that M&S has closed its town centre shop(now you have to visit the 'out of town' outlet)as that was always worth a look. It is pleasing that HMV is still there, and there is plenty of activity the other end with a new 'food hall' section(although a lot of the products were very expensive!)being opened. It has always been a great shopping centre, and with the extension that's being built, it should hopefully attract the customers back in greater numbers.

I am getting put off more and more with castle quay . Instead of having a nice gentle stroll around the shops , which I happen to think are very nice I am getting absolutely bombarded with awful music played at such a high volume . I get out of it as quickly as I can . It is so unpleasant.

Was once my favourite Sunday shopping visit, really not what it used to be, since BHS closed down it looks quite derelict lots of shops shut up, many don't open Sundays even Macdonalds in the town is boarded up and to top it all, we watched a mouse running around in the main centre, sorry castle quay I'm going to Gateway from now on.

Very happy HMV is still there. This branch is the only one near me. Very much a treat. Sad to see M&S go too. The Entertainer is entertaining

On May Day 2017 we decided to go to Banbury and particularly the Castle Quay area, where the canal runs right alongside the shopping centre... Nice walk along the canal and then into the shopping centre itself. Good range of shops and as in all towns, quite a few empty units ....shame really, but that's to be expected I suppose. Also a good range of shops on the streets nearby as well as places to eat. Had a look at Banbury Cross and the Fine Lady statue (as in the children's song) and enjoyed the few hours spent there......

There are no shops left to visit, almost all stores have closed or are moving out. One of the worst shopping towns in Oxfordshire

Shopping centre has a mixed choice of shops. Eating areas a disappointment and a lot more could be offered to make use of location next to canal.
