When you enter Buxton Opera house it's like going back in time in a nice way. We go to the 60's and 70's rock and roll nights. and they are brilliant

This was an amazing evening. We had Garden tickets so could have before and interval drinks and snacks (crisps or nuts) in the conservatory all included in the price. John Suchet made the whole evening interesting and entertaining with his background stores of the composers and a little bit a lit what the music was actually about. We couldn't m... More

The Opera House has been recently restored and it is beautiful. We saw Jekyll and Hyde with actors from Emerdale and London's Burning. I was born in Buxton and I am very proud of our wonderful Opera House. The staff are very helpful and so friendly. Go and enjoy a treat.

My daughter played here in a production of Annie alongside Sue Pollard a few years ago so it was nice to go back and visit to see the lovely building again. It's a gem seating about 900 but although it's small it's perfectly formed. Right in the middle of town next to the pavilion gardens I would recommend that you... More

I am not much of a theatre goer and don't really like opera but, during a day out to Buxton, I wanted to see as many of the town's fine historic buildings as I could – including Buxton Opera House. Stopping only briefly to take a few quick snaps of the exterior and popping into the reception area to look... More

Had a quick look inside and the interior is stunning. There were no shows on whilst we were there which was a shame. If you are heading to Buxton find out ahead what's on and plan your trip around it. Definitely worth it. Not just opera. Plays as well.
