Hidden in the walls of the castle, through the doorway are 2 huge bookshelves covered in books haphazardly, all of which are for sale for super cheap! Fun place to see what you can spot.

Walking through the grounds of Hay Castle, we came across the Castle Book Store. An honesty book store with no shop keeper, where people are free to browse the books and purchase them by putting money into a slot. I think it was only £1...More

The castle is being renovated so the days when this has lots of books everywhere seem to be long gone. There was a few books on sale but nothing of interest and they seemed to be relatively specialist. Sad but there are much better options...More

There is a small selection of books but it is a bookshop in a castle. Nice view of the village. Short walk but worthwhile.

This book store consists of a few shelving units full of books that would not likely sell if they were in the other bookshops. If it raises money for the Castle then it is worth looking here but otherwise not much to see.

This is a cute series of shelves set out below Hay Castle with an honesty box for your cash. You might find a gem here, or you might not!

Unusual to say the least - unless you look through the castle gate you would not realise the either side of the wall are bookshelves built onto the wall. All books are used, but there is a pretty good selection, more so if you are...More
