Great woodland walk
Nov 2021
It had been many years since we last visited and it was great returning to such a beautiful site. Fantastic autumn colours and stunning scenery. If in the area it is well worth a visit.

Glorious Autumnal walk
Oct 2021
Gorgeous autumnal walk by the river, Falls of Ossian were stunning, and the autumn colours were glorious. Slippery under foot so wear decent walking boots or trainers.

Worth the visit
Oct 2021
A bit of rain earlier in the week meant that by the time we got to the falls there was plenty of water in the river and the view was amazing,. The viewpoint is interesting as well. The paths are well used and in good order.

Better walks around than this
Sep 2021 • Couples
Expectations for this walk were high. All would have been okay if you did not have dogs. Waterfall was lovely the forest trails were good except signage was not good on the longer walks. If you have dogs watch out for trasils. Got home and had to give the dogs a bad hair cut to get rid of the matts. Better walks around than this one for sure.

Brilliant...but wish we could have completed the circuit!
Aug 2021
This is a truly magical walk. Wonderful scenery, exciting waterfall. things to see...it really is fantastic.

We opted for a circular walk which is about 4.5 miles but felt quite long due it being primarily uphill (gradual) for the first half. The frustrating thing was that over half the way in, we had to turn back because one of the bridges was undergoing work. Now, to be fair, this was detailed on the signs in the car park...but only by name and it wasn't obvious which walks were affected. It would be helpful highlighting these sorts of issues because it could be a bit much for some in terms of distance.

Don't let the above put you off though. One of the nicest walks we have down alongside a stunning riverside environment. Free parking for National Trust members

Forest walk

We had a really lovely family walk here, the waterfall is beautiful. There were people swimming in the pool close to the waterfall which looks like a lot of fun. I must give it a try

Unexpected delight
Jul 2021
This was an absolute delight. Really easy footpaths through a delightful woodland setting, with raging waterfalls and stone follies. Was not expecting much, but thoroughly enjoyed the visit.
As a Humanist wedding celebrant, I was delighted to see that a wedding was taking place there that weekend!

This is a must !

Beautiful area with plenty of walking routes. The falls are just amazing I am sure all year round. Would like to go back in the autumn when I am sure it would be even more beautiful.
