We didn’t go to the castle we went to the statue. It’s quite interesting finding about Mary. Great views where the statue is.

The 12th century castle mound with steps up and accompanied by Highland Mary of Robet Burns fame. Great views of the Firth of Forth and of Dunoon with the museum and its gardens. A little run down and the access to Mary Campbell needs upgrading....More

As a wee child I lived in Dunoon and I remember climbing the hill many times to sit and take in the beauty of the area. This was a must-do for me on my recent trip and it did not disappoint. Go see Highland Mary!

We enjoyed the steps up to the flagpole and the view is amazing but it is not wheelchair accessible and as I don't like heights stayed near the flagpole 😊

We were staying at ZHunter's Quay holiday camp and Dunoon is the nearest big town ( Morrisons, Coop, small shops etc) The castle is set high opposite the Victorian pier. In July it had attractive flower beds and several seats to sit and people watch....More

It's not really a castle, the small grounds are nice the views are nice but the building is fairly new, it looks more like a stately home.

I loved Dunoon, the entire town was just lovely. The people especially, they were so nice! I could buy a little cottage there and live forever!
