Went on this ride yesterday with hubby Ralph, son Jon 19 and friend Liam 20 - soooooo fab!!! Never laughed so much. Boat driver very expert with professional safety advice and local info. You get a really proper waterproof suit we looked like really trendy firemen!!! Would recommend to anyone who likes speed rides, it is bumpy but funny. Dont eat before we knew that as we had been on similar on the Thames. What a buzz.

Had a great couple of hours onboard and got to see lots of fabulous scenery. Remember to wrap up warm as it was pretty breezy, although they do provide clothing if you get extra chilly.

Lots of little stops in various places and Angus was very informative about the history of the area. Got to see sunbathing seals and even glimpsed some porpoise.

We were talking about it for the rest of the day and would recommend giving it a go.

Booked a trip back with Glasgow Sea Safari from Tarbert to Portavadie during the Scottish Series weekend and was left completely stranded for the second year in a row. First year was due to (debatable) "bad weather conditions" which i foolishly forgave on rebooking for the next year on the reassurance from Angus that this would not happen again...when after waiting for 20 minutes on Angus to appear, called him to be told he'd broken down and was not coming to get us. Without even having the consideration to give us a warning phonecall or a decent apology, he left a young group of girls stranded with no place to stay and no way of getting home for the second year running. ABSOULTELY UNNACCEPTABLE and his response was to take no responsibility as we had not paid a deposit (as he does not ask for one upon booking). Use at your own risk.

Decided to do this last minute with my teenage children. It was great, it certainly does blow the cobwebs away. The journey was longer than I expected and was real value for money. It started raining during the trip but this just added to the experience. Make sure you're wearing waterproof clothing if rain is a possibility and also something warm. Great views of Glasgow's riverside.
