This was one of the best experiences on our trip to IOW. My children and nephews had a blast collecting rocks/stones/fossils and running to Felicity to verify their find. Felicity was extremely patient with all the kids and so knowledgeable in her field. I'll never look at a rock the same again! Booking the trip was amazingly straight forward and... More

Back again; this guided fossil tour with Flick is just excellent! Thank you again for sharing your knowledge with such enthusiasm. Every trip we have been on has yielded some fantastic fossils and we learn something new every time!

2 hours of fun and learning for both ourselves and our six year old granddaughter. Extremely well organised from booking to the day itself. A fascinating and educational experience under Flick's excellent guidance but at the same time perfect for kids . The six year old loved it and hasn't stopped talking about it since she got back! . For... More

Booked fossil hunt with Jenny at Island Gems she was so helpful and although I didn't know what to expect I though at least it will kill a couple of hours and keep the children entertained. MY GOODNESS!! I (aged 46) had the best fun ever....as did the boys (aged 11). We found real dinosaur bones and my trips to... More

This is a must, it is the best thing on the island and it is free other than a couple of quid for the parking, the kids will love it

We booked this trip on a whim when we visited Island Gems in Godshill. It wasn't on our to do list whilst on holiday but we're really glad we did it. Jenny in the shop was really helpful with booking the trip and showing us on a map where it would be. She then sent a confirmation email later including... More

Jenny at Island Gems was kind enough to organise a fossil walk at only 2 days notice for our party. Such exceptional value I had to double check the price. Our guide Flick was AMAZING and kept both the adults and children on our tour entertained and interested in the history of the landscape and its dinosaur inhabitants. A must... More

For a very small fee, 3 and a half hours of pure joy (and a bit of exercise to boot!) along Brighstone Bay with our paleontologist 'Flick'. A lady exuding knowledge, humour and passion, she took us across the beach, highlighting geological time lines in the cliff faces, pointing out extraordinary 65.5 million year old dinosaur *footprints*, which have to... Guided by Flick, we had lovely weather and the walk was at our own pace and we had many fossil finds. Kids loved it and Flick had great patience identifying everybody's finds from tarmac to fossil bones! Information provided was for every level and wonderful surprise at the end of the walk. We walked the other direction a couple of... More

We booked up the fossil hunting this year as we missed it last year due to the tides being wrong and the wrong time of the year, so we made sure this year. We were met by a young girl called Flick and she was absolutely fantasic. She was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and friendly and I could not recommend this trip... More
