I worked at and lived above the toy museum for just over 7 years and can't say enough how much I enjoyed it, and how sad it's now closed.
I met so many lovely people and even got to see children growing up, from babes in arms to young children, as a lot of people came back year after year.
I heard so many fascinating stories about people's childhoods that I could write a book, and I'm pleased that it bought joy and fun to so many.
Thank you to one and all who paid a visit to thr museum and hope it holds many happy memories for you as it does me.
Karen.

Got there and there is a sign in the window showing they are closed as they have retired.

Was so looking forward to adding to my Star Wars collection.

Did go a few years back and did enjoy it. What have you done with the Star Wars collection?

Thanks for the nostalgia

A small and interesting museum. Plenty of corgi, dinky, triang items of the 1950's, 60's and 70's. Brought back a lot of memories from my childhood and the toys I played with at that time. A small entrance fee is charge and it only takes 30-40mins to look around but well worth viewing when you are in Godshill.

Free entry, Modern art, using clever photography. The main theme focuses on animals.
Artist Graham Smith.
Opposite the bus stop to Shanklin or Ventnor, a large free car park is just across the road.

It did have a wonderful collection of Dinky and Corgi toys and a nice shop where you could indulge yourself and buy a bit of yesteryear. But alas it's gone. If you want to shop for these old toys try Paddington's in Ventnor which has lots of interesting items.

Ferry from Hythe to Southampton. Caught Red Ferries to Isle of Wight East. Great day there sight seeing over half the Island. Thank you to a beautiful friend Susie Addisson for organising the day and for taking me there.

Not a lot to look at here, but passes 10mins for a little look. Museum was ok but after going to the toy museum in Stansted nothing compares. The guy in the shop seemed pleasant enough but didn't engage with any customers or give any information, just took your money and left you to it.

The Nostalgia Toy Museum is located just opposite the entrance to the coach car park /obliquely opposite the Old Smithy Cottage. There was a sign about the sale of Star Wars toys so we assumed there might have been other toys for sale inside. We were right as there were in fact many of them on display in the front section, of which all were for sale.

Most of the toys date from the 1950's through the 1970's. Lovely transport collections as well as superheroes in various brands as well as a few ceramics and dolls. Most come with their original boxes which is always a plus! Some books and vintage railway postcards for sale as well.

Entry to the museum was £1.50 per person. It's a small museum but if old toys fascinate you and you grew up in the late 50's onwards, then this place will bring back many happy childhood memories. It is worth the small entry fee and it takes about 20 minutes inside so you'll still have ample time to explore Godshill even if you’re on a short visit.
