Strong statement I know - but this fossil hunting experience was absolutely fantastic. We spent two hours with Flick, who was so knowledgeable and interesting and so very patient with all of the little ones. I learnt so much from her and I wanted the experience to last so much longer. After some information about the different types of fossils we were looking for I decided to try and focus on looking for jet black items in the hopes of finding something dinosaur related. I couldn’t believe my luck when I managed to find two small dinosaur bones from a iguanodon - about 125 million years old. Flick was so lovely and told me all about them. I couldn’t believe it. I almost cried I was so happy and excited. I have been a huge dinosaur fan for most of my life, and this felt like a once in a lifetime experience. Flick was awesome and this was by far the best thing we did on the IOW - and possibly ever. It is also a super cheap activity to do. I couldn’t recommend it even. Considering a trip back to the IOW just so we can the fossil tour again and do more fossil hunting.

Fascinating fossil tour and beach walk with Greg on a gorgeous late summer evening. We learned so much about the area and its history and will never look at pebbles on the beach in quite the same way again! We made lots of discoveries including some fools gold & a fragment of dinosaur bone and saw the dinosaur footprints & casts. Amazing. We would highly recommend this tour to adults and children alike.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable and informative fossil tour with Huxley this afternoon; 2 hours felt like 20 minutes! Huxley's enthusiasm for his subject was infectious and at last we have begun to learn just what we are looking at on the beach. Would recommend these tours to all age groups, you will learn so much. 10/10 from us. Thank you.

Absolutely great time fossil hunting. Well worth the price and time flies! Scenery on the beach is beautiful and a wonderful way to see the west of the island! Huxley was a great teacher, engaging, approachable, funny with lots of knowledge. Didn't know it was 'fossil-ible' to have so much fun looking at stones! Lucky to see dinosaur footprints and traces and learn lots about dinosaurs we didn't know about! Appropriate for all ages, would highly recommend! 🦖🦕

An early start but a really enjoyable 2 hours spent on the beach with Huxley as our guide. He was full of knowledge and stories, presenting them in a very engaging manor. The time passed very quickly and I was keen to continue looking but the tide had other ideas. Highly recommended, even if you only have a passing interest in dinosaurs.
