Crete Way East & West are two high viewpoints from the Southern most tip of the North Downs looking from the top of the hills across the old smugglin, cinque port town of Folkestone across the English Channel to Calais, the nearest point of France, especially great on a clear, sunny day.

wilderness

There is not very much wilderness within easy walking distance of a Kent town, but here is one. Walk up Dover or Canterbury Road, or hope off at the Valiant Sailor bus on the 102 Bus, and you'll have the finest views in the South east of England. And the strongest wind!
