Brilliant pub. Great beers. Staff OK too! You know who you are lol. Some great nights out with live music and a legend of a DJ once a month!

A popular and comfortable pub with tables out front for the sunny days.
Jun 2017
A group of seven of us were doing the Ale Trail and visited this pub. Its a short walk down hill from the station at Slaithwaite, (locally pronounced as Slawit). This is a popular and comfortable pub with tables out front for the sunny days. Some of us had a pint of the house beer, the Commercial, which we didn’t think much of. Like London water it looked and tasted as if it had already been through a few kidneys. Would suggest you avoid this and try a different beer here. Otherwise a very nice place to stop over at.

Not The Best on the Rail Ale Trail
Feb 2017 • Friends
The ale was okay- not a stellar list, but some palatable beers. Our main issue was that a large ish group of us were denied the second half of Wales v England at rugby- easy the biggest sporting event of the day, so that a couple of locals could watch Liverpool v Tottenham. Liverpool v Tottenham? In Yorkshire? Nowt special, as they (probably) say in Slawit. Should have gone to the Sair. They might not have had the rugby, but that IS a great pub.

Local pub
Aug 2016 • Family
The Commercial serves a wide variety of modestly priced (£2.70 - £2.95) real ales. Something like four or five of these change on a regualr basis, but one, CommerciALE, is brewed for them locally by the Empire Brewery, Slaithwaite. £2.00 a pint! Gets busy at tea times and weekends.

Friendly Pub
Aug 2015 • Friends
Friendly pub with a decent choice of ales. Good service, fair prices, and a decent beer garden. Definitely one of my preferred pubs in Slaithwaite.

Great real ale pub, always a good range of guest beers and the ubiquitous CommerciALE brewed just along the canal at the Empire Brewery

Nice Friendly Pub
Jul 2015 • Friends
I visited on a Monday night with friends doing the Trans-Pennine Real Ale Trail with friends. The pub was busy but not overly so. It was a very friendly place with a decent selection of beers and ciders. Given more time, we would have stayed for longer but we had another pub to visit and a train to catch. This pub was well worth a stop and we would return.
