As locals we love our Greenhead Park with the well kept gardens , paths and children’s play area and many other excellent facilities.
The recent refurbishment of the Conservatory is a real achievement ( houses the Park Cafe Restaurant) and really sets the scene if you want to spend a few hours wondering round this amazing park.
The only negative is the overpriced and very unfriendly coffee / ice cream shop located near the bowling green . Went in today just after 2pm to discover no hot food on offer , no service from the 4 very redundant looking staff. We bought 2 bottles of pop and a small coffee at an extortionate £6.20 !!!
The Park Cafe Restaurant is also overpriced... two hot drinks and basic kids sandwiches at £14 !!!
Amazing park but a picnic strongly recommended at all times !

Greenhead Park is about half a mile from the city center. there's plenty of trees and greenery, a cafe, duck pond, children's play area and other interesting things to see.
It has a small car park with two disabled bays. Parking is £1 per hour maximum stay 3 hours and blue badge holders its free. Car Park opening times are 8 AM to 6PM 7 days a week including Bank Holidays.
It really is worth a visit as it's so relaxing and so close to the city center but so far away if you can see my meaning.

This is a beautiful park in all four seasons! I've been for walks, to lay in the sun & read, and to meet a friend. I would say 'friends' but I like to keep my reviews honest. And I don't even keep in touch with that friend now - lovely woman but we have nothing in common. She was only 2 years older than me but I always felt she was humouring me - maybe she was?

Anyway, lovely park, well worth a wander. It's worth bringing a blanket and a book - but not when it's raining/snowing/howling wind. Although that could be fun also. Beautiful gardens & architecture!

This large, well kept park is about a ten minute walk from the town centre. We managed to just see the south-east corner of it on a hot July afternoon, where we sat and ate ice-creams bought from a shop just outside the park. A paddling area was very popular with young children.

We love greenhead park, so many different play areas suitable for all different ages of children. Little Train runs in better weather. Plenty open space to run around for children. Cafe by tennis courts good value for money.

Lovely park and can walk there from Huddersfield town centre. Went to Conservatory cafe and food really good and good value. Staff very nice, friendly and helpful. Nice surroundings and can sit outside. Would recommend.

Took my son and his family here for a couple of hours. The park is well maintained and the playground equipment in good working order. All in all a good sized facility which was being used by a large number of locals in a responsible manner. Will definitely come here again.

Popped in when I was nearby. Coffee and tiffin which was gorgeous. Plenty of mums and kids. Couples and groups of ladies having lunch. Done a good job tidying up the conservatory. Well done Kirklees council for once.

It was our first time visiting this lovely park. Very beautifully well maintained. Lot's for children to do and the dogs enjoyed a nice walk round too. Plenty of ice cream vans and two places where you can get a bite to eat. We look forward to visiting again.

We made a special trip to visit the refurbished Victorian greenhouses in Greenhead Park, however when we got there we were disappointed to find that they have been refurbished into a cafe and not into a living greenhouse, sooooo disappointed. Since we had made a special journey we did have a drink but £2.25 for a hot chocolate that we watched being made from a supermarket style sachet and canned cream rather added insult to injury. Not sure who's bright idea it was to ruin a wonderful greenhouse by turning it into a cafe, perhaps this ought to be made a little clearer to avoid other wasted journeys? The greenhouse would have been better left as it was it has been totally ruined.
