My wife, stepdaughter and I took my young grandson for a trip on the Kirklees Light Railway last Friday and we all had a thoroughly good time. In addition to the train ride lasting approx. 25 mins. each way, there is lots to do. My grandson enjoyed the swings in the play park at Clayton West as well as playing... More

We had a nice day out here, it was something a little different. The children were delighted with the steam train ride. The staff were all friendly and waving to the children all day! The place had a warm, friendly vibe to it. Parking was easy too! Downsides - I thought it was a little pricey. The play areas could... More

I found this while searching for things to do nearby and this was number 1 so gave it a go. It's a really enjoyable experience. 25mins each way and a good break in between to watch the rain get ready for its return journey. I expected full size trains but they are really small - perfectly formed, meticulously kept and... More

This attraction is suitable for all ages. It is located in beautiful countryside yet within easy reach of many parts of West Yorkshire. A hidden gem of bygone years. There is plenty of parking, a wonderful cafe serving homemade food at very reasonable prices and other play attractions. The light railway travels through beautiful scenery, you would not think that... More

Today was my third visit in the past 12 months. Although it is summer holidays, this place has never been over crowded when I've been. 2 play areas, 2 cafes, free inflatables and of course the train rides between stations, there's plenty to do and the time passes quickly. The children enjoyed the train and watching the engine turn round... More

Was absolutely thrilled to find a lovely clean venue. We started off with a trip to the loo. Excellent all working with paper and clean. The cafe a little slow with service but only one assistant on so understandable, everything served hot, drinks were good. Plenty of places for the children to play, inside and out. The train journey up... More
