The only thing in Luton that will make you smile!

I have been a few times, I wish I could go more.
I live in Luton, people say it has its charms. It doesn't. Everyone that lives here just can't can't afford to move or Luton lethargy has set in so deep they can't be bothered to speak to one of Luton many estate agents. BUT, it does have this comedy night. Its a great night out, its cheap, even for Luton, and the comedians are top notch. I actually did a bit of a wee in my seat once, don't think anyone will notice the venue is quite rough anyway, but don't let that put you off. I think it actually adds to the feel of the night. This night always has a Very friendly crowd and there are often people that come on their own and end up chatting away with all the comedy fans.
This night is easily as good as the 'big brand' comedy clubs as far as the talent is concerned but the venus and crowd are what stands it apart from them, much more friendly and relaxed, the comedians and punters are all mingling around and chatting together. Sometimes you will have a chat with a stranger at the bar and then they are on stage.
The host is usually the same guy, he's a bit of a maniac but very funny and all the ladies seem to want a piece of him. He is usually around welcoming new faces.
I would definitely advise a trip to this comedy night, even if you have to drive a distance to get there, much better than going to a comedy night in London and there are more comedians on at this night (7 last night) and they were all brilliant.
Bring spare pants or get some of those adult nappies, you'll need them because you will piss yourself laughing.
Great for date night. Quite dark in the audience too so thats handy if she's a rotter.
And the drinks are quite cheap too.
Don't thin there is a dress code, clothes are probably optional.
Thats as much detail as I can give, enjoy.

A brilliant monthly night week night out, perfect for breaking up the working week with laughter!

Held in the 'charming' EDGE nightclub, this is easily one of the best things to do in Luton and I try not to miss it.

The On the Edge comedy night takes place in the Edge Night Club on the first Wednesday of each month. Doors open at 7:30ish. On the night i visited the crowd was small and all seemed to know each other. The atmosphere was more like a bunch of the promoter's mates coming together for a good night of comedy than one of those commercial, over structured comedy clubs. This is how comedy nights ought to be. Banter, slightly disorganised and rough round the edges. I loved it.

The gig started at 8:15 and comprised two comedians doing an hour set each, working their material to get it ready to take to Edinburgh Fringe. Some of the material was raw and underworked, but I was really, really pleasantly surprised at the quality of the acts.

Why was i surprised? because tickets for the comedy nights are £5 a pop. that's right. £5. It's not a typo. Cynic that i am, i thought the profit would be made on the drinks inside the venue, but even these were cheap. My wife and I had a great night out for £10, and we could hardly believe it. For that sort of money, comedians can practice their material on me any day of the week.

The event is 18+, and with good reason. Do not bring your prudish maiden aunt.

High points: The quality of the comedy, the ticket price, the company.
Low points: Can't really think of any. This will become a regular night out for us.
