Wonderful day on Exmoor with Exmoor Photography. So much more than just a Red Deer Stalk. I learnt a lot more about my camera. Jack is highly knowledgeable on the subject of cameras and made sure the camera was set up right before a stalk and checked the photos after. His 'sidekick' Jaimie led the stalks and his knowledge of the red deer and their behaviour was extremely interesting. Musn't forget Alison, Jack's wife, who provided us with excellent refreshments. Worth going just for her flapjacks! Most importantly for me was the reassurance from Jack prior to the day regarding Covid awareness. My husband is classed as 'clinically highly vulnerable' and I was concerned but Jack's reassurance and what they had in place as requirements made me feel confident about the day.

My third adventure with Exmoor Photography, the first two were birding and this one the Red Deer Rut on Exmoor. Arrived at Jacks and greeted with a cup of coffee. Was very pleased to see how serious they took every bodies safety due to Covid. Thanks to Jack and Jamie's knowledge of the deer's whereabouts and their behaviour I had a fantastic day photographing them and observing their behaviour at this time of year. A great lunch was provided thanks to Jacks wife Alison along with coffee and homemade Flapjacks during the day. I would recommend Exmoor Photography to anyone interested in improving their photography skills and who enjoys being out with nature.
Many thanks to Jack, Jamie and Alison.

I booked the full day Landscape Workshop hoping to add to my existing, rather patchy, knowledge and improve my picture taking.

In the event I found that I had Jack Clegg and his colleague Jamie all to myself for the day. Right from the outset Jack put me at ease and was willing to help out when I discovered I had left my camera at my hotel (over an hour away) - d'oh!!!

I still find it hard to realise what a huge amount of knowledge I absorbed throughout the day. I feel I learned so much. We visited some wonderful locations. I was often taken right out of my comfort zone and managed to achieve some really good shots for my archive. Jack and Jamie never talked down to me despite my lack of knowledge in a number of key areas. Instead they carefully went over each aspect of the work patiently and extensively.

If you are looking to enhance your photography, you will do no better than with these two guys who are so enthusiastic and knowledgable. This has to be the best workshop day out on any subject that I have ever had.

I am certain I shall be back for more. Many thanks to Jack and Jamie!

The original date for my course was rained off but Jack and Alison quickly rescheduled it for later in the same week. When I arrived I learned that the other person taking the course with me had cancelled the day before which meant I had the whole day to myself!

I had an amazing day! Jack and Jamie are extremely knowledgeable and take time explaining how to get the most out of your camera. They encouraged me to try different settings and filters. I now understand the exposure triangle and have learned so much about how to accurately capture light and colour. I also learned how to take macro shots and now realise why I previously struggled with them!

All the while we were surrounded by beautiful Devon and Somerset countryside and sunshine. I couldn't have asked for more!

My son and I recently attended a taster workshop where we were warmly welcomed by Jack and Alison. Jack is obviously very experienced and knowledgeable in his field, teaching in a friendly and relaxed manner where we felt completely at ease. He ensured that we understood a subject before moving on and would patiently recap as we went along. 4 hours, some stunning Exmoor scenery and a delicious refreshments break later, we had both learned a great deal about the hitherto unknown features on our cameras and came away with renewed enthusiasm and the confidence to use them .

Another wonderful day with Exmoor Photography. Beyond all expectations. My aim was to see a kingfisher. 389 photographs later I think I can say that I definitely achieved my aim. There kingfishers, fishing, catching fish, preening, posing and so much more. Jack's briefing before we set off for the hide was excellent and the help sheets he gave us for when he had left us were invaluable. Alison kept us going with tea, coffee, flapjacks and chocolate muffins. We almost didn't let them into the hide when they came to collect us as we were having such a great time!

I recently attended a couple of workshops with Exmoor Photography - Landscape course & the Dipper Special. Ahead of the first day, i felt quite apprehensive, as my own attempts at Landscape Photography previously had not gone well, so i felt quite nervous. This feeling was soon gone, as i received the same warm welcome from Jack i had on my last visit, some years back.
We met up with Jamie and travelled to the first location and i have to say, the day/course were perfect and exactly what was needed. The content & the pace of the course were fantastic and the knowledge gained from the day, raised my confidence levels no end.

The second day was the Dipper Special - and what a day! Lots of activity and an appearance by probably the biggest (Dipper) Show off in Exmoor. Having never seen these birds 'in the flesh', it was a great experience and a sight to behold.

Overall, the 2 days were superb and i cannot recommend Exmoor Photography highly enough. Thank you Jack, Alison & Jamie for an absolutely fantastic time.

Great Dipper day with Jack offering advice and helpfull info as we went along. Very well looked after (as usual) with plenty of refreshments available. The dippers performed very well for us and all the tick boxes were well ticked. Highly recommended!

Excellent morning photographing Kingfishers. Jack knows his stuff, camera equipment, techniques, wildlife, field craft...he has it all. I have attended quite a few courses now and each one has been delivered to the same level of care and excellence. Add to that his personal skills and you have a fantastic combination that will get the very best out of you and your equipment. From landscapes to wildlife, Jack can teach you what you need to know to get to the next level, and you will walk away with some amazing images that make you smile.

Jack, Jamie and Alison give an outstanding introduction to landscape photography. The explanations are detailed and structured step by step to deliver clear understanding. Jack and Jamie are immensely patient with every student irrespective of their level, and no question is treated as "stupid" irrespective of how basic it is. I have attended the basic level course twice and learned more each time despite taking landscape photos for more than 40 years. I will certainly be back for more be it kingfishers or deer stalking (photographic!). Thankyou all!!
