As a Minehead resident I wanted to invite my friends and family to the Jubilee celebrations in June in Blenheim Gardens. To my shock our small well behaved dog on a lead is nit allowed in the park. My friends children have a little dog which is a loved member of the family, as is ours. We cannot be expected to leave dogs in the car, which we would never do. We have to miss the celebrations because of this ludicrous draconian and unfair ridiculous rule, in a town full of responsible dog owners. Please do something about this stupid rule so that we can all join in our queens celebrations! I’m sure she would be horrified to know we were turned away because of our beloved little dog! Thank you

We had 2 double scoop Kelly's ice-creams (£9.00). They were the smallest sized scoops we've ever had a I think the most expensive.
It seems to be manned by children that maybe haven't received proper training?
Sadly we'll not be going back again.

What used to be a lovely little park has turned into a waste of space. My mum lives in Minehead and Blenheim Gardens used to be a place my parents would often visit together before my dad passed away, they would have coffee and cake at the lovely little café and then enjoy a walk round the park.
I took my mum who is now 91 to the park in her wheelchair at the weekend to find myself having to dodge groups of drunks and the café is a derelict building. . After making some enquiries I was told the café is being turned into a Wine Bar/Bistro as if there are not enough eating/drinking places in the Town. I have always felt Blenheim Gardens was the ideal place for the elderly to visit (providing they don't have a dog) because of the café and Band Stand....what on earth will a Wine Bar bring to the park other than more drunks? what it needs is for the café to be re-opened so elderly people can get away from the crowds that swarm the town from Butlins. I certainly wont be taking my mum back.

From the entrance this looked like a nice area for a walk.
However the rule about no dogs prevented that. I fail to see why dogs on leads cannot enter. Shame I think we would have enjoyed a walk around it.

Beautiful gardens with well-maintained wheelchair and pushchair friendly paths. There's plenty of seats where you can sit and enjoy the peace and quiet and the beautiful colours of the flowers. For those who have memories of the actions in the Far East during the Second World War, there's a special place of remembrance, the Minehead Burma Star Association Memorial Garden. The gardens also have a cafe and toilets. Beautiful place to chill out.

Absolutely beautiful gardens - really well maintained with fantastic flower displays. Nice quiet place to sit and relax. Lovely to find a dog-free place to enjoy without having to constantly check the grass for mess.

4 of us walked through and had a look. i wanted to in order to try and save the day as Minehead has very little to offer in my opinion.
This garden area isn't amazing by any means but it's maintained and it's nice enough.
A pleasant place to walk. I did notice the benches were all chained together which must have it's own story.

Well, for the only park in a family friendly town...What a disgrace! I booked a holiday cottage in the town in September. I expected that i couldn't take my dogs onto the beach then. (Even though the beach was always empty, and we had tee-shirt weather in September...Lucky!)
But to see the only park closed, all year around to anyone except OAP's (I'm not sure if mobility scooters are allowed?) is a great shame to the town. Minehead has a reputation for being a Butlin's left-over. I can now see why! We spent our time/money on Dunster Beach, about 2 miles away...Time well spent! NEVER AGAIN WITH DOGS OR CHILDREN!!!

First of all visited the beach, no area of the beach, can you go with a dog.
Then thought we would visit these gardens - guess what no dogs allowed.
Needless to say, we wont be rushing back to Minehead. Looking at some of the shuttered shops on the front, they should be looking to encourage visitors and make them welcome.

These are very attractive flower gardens with trees and grass in the centre of Minehead. There are plenty of seats to sit and relax in good weather.

Are the toilets in Blenheim Gardens currently open?
Written August 8, 2020
Absolutely. The gardens have tarmac paths winding throughout. The cafe is not accessible using a mobility scooter though as there are steps up to it but there is seating outside on ground level.
