- Dean3 contributionsMisleading nameHad a lovely time however I didn’t see any peas 🫛 I’ve been to a few pea museums infact I have some vintage tins. Stayed there for 3 days with binoculars however I didn’t catch a glimpse of the small green round vegetable delights. Maybe next timeVisited August 2023Traveled with familyWritten March 13, 2024
- BraindamagedbaronNewark-on-Trent, United Kingdom1,796 contributionsPark LifeMy parents had been raving about Peasholm Park since shortly after the Boer War came to its dramatic conclusion. They had lived in Scarborough for some time. It was nicer than the Algarve, apparently. Prettier than a field of tulips, more good people than a nunnery . Imagine my surprise when I went. Peasholm Park is a delight, however. A really rather nice part of the town. A park in the truest sense of the word. Nice surroundings, lovely walks, perfect spot to spend quality time with your family or friends. Or both. An ideal spot to whip out the egg and cress and enjoy a glass or two on the picnic rug. - Daryl TNewcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom690 contributionsA sense of the Orient a short walk from ScarboroughPeaseholme Park is an Oriental themed park located about a 20 minute walk from the centre of Scarbrough. The park explores its historical roots and why it is Orientally themed as you walk around it and take in the sites. From the beautiful pagoda and waterfall at the centre of the lake to the hand carved statues and woodwork throughout the park, there is always something to see and explore. There are toilets in the park and a cafe (but this was closed when we went on a Sunday) so I can imagine that on a beautiful summer day, this would be a beautiful place to walk around with the family whilst eating an ice cream.Visited February 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten April 13, 2024

Sadly the island and dragon boat rides were closed . The park was very clean , and not coved in rubbish , and it was a warm sunny day when we visited .Visited May 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten May 22, 2024
- Steve HDoncaster, United Kingdom249 contributionsVibrant wildlifeCentre piece of the North Bay Area. Well kept and maintained park. Lovely walks along the trails. Good signage. Plenty of places to stop, sit down and enjoy the vibrant wildlife. Very tranquil. Accessible cafe adjacent to the lake. Shame the mini golf, boats or the island were not open. Otherwise would have given the full 5 stars.Visited May 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten May 22, 2024
- Sami Moon4 contributionsGreat little walkBeautiful park, easy access with a pushchair. Path can be a bit slippy and muddy in the rain. Got to feed squirrels by hand which my daughter loved and plenty of ducks to feed too. Great little café and parking close by.Visited June 2024Traveled with familyWritten July 11, 2024
- CJTGlasgowGlasgow, United Kingdom773 contributionsGreat family parkIt was like stepping back in time, going back to Peasholm Park. I had a couple of family holidays here over 45 years ago - and nothing has really changed! They even still have the naval battles in the afternoons! I used to race my brother round the island in canoes as a child - sadly they don't have them anymore, its pedallos now! But a queue to use them all the same - its lovely to see families are still coming to Scarborough and enjoying it as we did all those years ago! Lovely walks in the back of the park, a good cafe, play park and the boats - don't miss it!Visited July 2024Traveled soloWritten August 5, 2024
- Jane FHullbridge, United Kingdom4 contributionsLovely park but the toilet facilities need cleaningWe visited Peasholm Park recently for the first time. It is a lovely park , my only criticism is the state of the public toilets in the park which were pretty disgusting. We enjoyed all the wildlife there, the squirrels, birds and fish but we noticed there were also quite a lot of rats ! However they didn't seem to be causing any bother! A great day out though, especially considering it is free entry. Highly recommended.Visited August 2024Traveled with familyWritten August 9, 2024
- HolidaymakerfromHoveBrighton and Hove, United Kingdom2,894 contributionsSunday morning stroll around beautiful Peasholm Park…….Very nice large park in Scarborough. Oriental theme with pagodas, dragon boats for hire and lots of water. We spent approx an hour walking through the park and saw about two thirds of it. Popular with families and dog walkers. Plenty of facilities - toilets, cafe, lots of places to sit etc Spotlessly clean. Beautiful trees and flowers. Free to visit. Recommended when in Scarborough.Visited August 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten August 18, 2024
- Shell-louHolyhead, United Kingdom24 contributionsBeautifulWhat a beautiful place this is! We came here whilst on holiday to watch a naval boat show and it was fab! The place is spotless and clearly well looked after, full of wildlife, we saw ducks, swans and squirrels. We had ice creams to watch the show which were reasonably priced, the only thing I would say is that during busy periods such as the show we watched they really need a better system for the the little shop/ice cream parlour, we waited a good 20 mins in line for a ice cream however there seems to be a lot that goes on in this park and we will be returning again. Highly recommend the naval boat show, my 15 year old boy and 9 year old girl both thoroughly enjoyed it!Visited August 2024Traveled with familyWritten August 20, 2024

A truly stunning park with lots to keep you busy. We visited for he Naval Warfare display on the lake, a favourite from my own childhood. We then take a walk around the park and island while we wait for the line for the boats to go down (there's always a rush after the display with the lake being closed for a period in advance). The pedalos are in-keeping with the theme of the park which is a nice touch. There are different pricing tiers based on the number of people going in each boat (1-5 people). We've never used the cafe, but there is a good selection of treats at the ice cream booth.

I have always loved this park in the heart of Scarborough's North Bay ever since I were a child and have many fond memories of the place. It is so beautiful with the unique bridge and Pagoda in the middle and lovely, cascading waterfalls. There is Dragon Peddleboats or Rowboats to hire for 30 minutes inexpensively and a cafe with plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy a picnic.
There is also a highly entertaining Naval Warship demonstration three days a week on the lake which is always worth a watch.

Myself and husband took our dog to the park. It is free to get in. The park is divine. It has a huge lake with dragon boats. Waterfalls and Japanese gardens. The cafe is reasonably priced but if you were a family on a budget you could pack a picnic and it would cost noting. This is a beautiful park. The fact you don’t have to pay to get in was amazing.

We have been coming here for years.
It’s lovely to walk round lots of wildlife then you can hire a dragon peddle boat or rowing boats to go round the big pond which the kids loved when they were young. We decided to watch the performance with war ships it was £4.50 a adult. Once paid you can enter the park at 2 pm it’s shut for an hour beforehand. The show was ok with the boats and planes the kids were getting involved which was lovely to see. When paying you get told it gets noisy especially at the end with fireworks yet lots of people had dogs and very small children and babies. So throughout the show a few fireworks were going off which made the dogs going mad barking and kids screaming and crying and this was fairly early on. The end come with the fireworks and you couldn’t here what was going on because of the dogs. Overall it was quite entertaining bad points.. the toilets were very smelly toilet roll just all over and they were very old no door lock and inside the cubicle no hook on the door to hang your bag and I definitely didn’t want to put it on the dirty floor. On the outside of the doors had a picture on probably to hide all the graffiti as it was everywhere. When I got out and sat down 2 cleaners turned up and started emptying the bins around everyone very unpleasant and definitely put us off buying any food. The park around the café and seating area and toilets were shut for anyone at least an hour and the two cleaner’s that turned up could have easily cleaned all these areas before we was allowed entry. Don’t know what they were doing while it was shut but it was definitely not cleaning the main areas. Really let it down as everyone was saying the same. The ending was great but all the dogs were going mad.
Leave your dogs at home if they don’t like big bangs it’s not fair on them same with very young children they didn’t know what was going on.

Walked into the park from the side of the open air theatre too many geese on the paths bird poo everywhere. Carried on round same on the other side. Seating area is nice with a cafe to have refreshments. But the sight of the band stand in the water is disgusting covered in bird poo and feathers. A game of putting is ÂŁ3.60 per person! Then if you haven't paid to watch the warfare performance you're asked to leave the park .

Lovely Park but so very disappointed. When we googled something to do that day whilst on holiday with our 2 teenage boys. I came across this Park, wow! , Water slide, water spheres, Paddelos, bumper boats and and a tree top trail. That's the one! So I called in advance to check if they had parking for motorhomes. Oh no, you need to Park at the sealife centre and take the heritage train to the park. So, ÂŁ23 pound plus ÂŁ6 parking down the line we are at the park. It looks brilliant but wait? Why is all the activities closed? Where's the bumper boats, spheres and water slide? All CLOSED!!!!! Sir Tom Jones is performing that night at 8pm in the open air theatre, so they closed everything except the paddelos early (2:45pm). Well maybe try telling your staff, because they charged my son's card for 2 of the closed activities and only realised when he informed them that it's closed! So now he's got to wait 2-3 days for a refund. So, long story..... a short uncomfortable train ride, 3 trips round the water in a paddelo and a Parking Ticket! Check to make sure there's no one performing that night or you're in for a disappointing, expensive day!

We arrived at the park at 1.15pm, planning on heading to the cafe and then going on the dragon boats and up to the island pagoda. We started towards the cafe and got stopped and told that the park and cafe close at 1.30pm for the model boat battle to be organised. This starts at 3pm!! How does the cafe survive if half of lunchtime it is closed?! Very disappointed as we couldn’t wait around until 3.45pm when it reopened, so we’ve completely missed out on something we specifically went to Scarborough for.

We had a nice walk around Peasholm Park. We parked on the street at the back of the park and walked through the park down towards the promenade. The path was clean, steady and quite level but we noticed the streams and lake wasn't that clean. We hired a pedalo for half an hour which cost something like ÂŁ6/ÂŁ7 for the three of us, which I thought was reasonable. We had a good time on the pedalos.

Had visited Peasholm Park on couple of occasions during our stay in this region and were astonished with its diverse flora. It's amazing to see so many different trees in one place in such interesting setting. Peasholm Island, which seems to be a central part of this park, is designed to reflect Chinese Willow Pattern and can be accessed through one bridge. This part is open to public between 09:00 and 20:00, while rest of the park can be accessed at anytime.
There is limited access prior and during Warfare Battles, which take place just in the middle of water reservoir in Peasholm Park. We did not manage on time to see this performance but it appears to be very popular and highly rated event. It's ÂŁ12.50 for two adults and one child and tickets can be purchased at entrance to the park and only paid by cash.
There are boats and dragon shaped pedalos to hire with half hour time slots available at the price of around ÂŁ8 for 3 people. This allows enough time to get at least twice around the Peasholm Island. Within this park's premises there are also: mini golf course, Glen Tree Walk, cafe and public toilets. We could have easily spent all day in this park and would not get bored at all. Amount of seagulls and state of public toilets would only be only concerns to bear in mind when visiting Peasholm Park.

We were on holiday in Yorkshire and across peasholm park when in scarborough. The kids loved the battleship reenactment (ÂŁ12 for a family ticket I believe) we also had a go on the dragon pedalos (ÂŁ8 for 30 mins).
The park itself has a lovely feel about it, japanese garden theme and is tranquil.
There are other things to do there also which we did not try.
There parking nearby as well as the mini railway. It all comes under North Bay area.
