So many happy memories I have of Jacobs Ladder Beach. I was there yesterday at high tide, and it certainly wasn’t calm! The beach is always kept clean, and as long as you can cope with walking on the pebbles, it’s well worth the effort.

I had a pretty amazing day sunbathing here last bank holiday. Whilst it’s very family-friendly (which is not what I’m going for), there is also more than enough space to fit everyone on the beach without it feeling crowded. I found a concrete slab to...More

Even on a windy spring day, the walk along the beach and up the steps was really good. I like the red cliffs and the sense of history.

There are superb views of the beach from the top of this ladder of the sea and Peak Hill cliffs. There is an excellent restaurant close by in Connaught Gardens which are also worth a visit.

Lovely walk through Connaught Gardens down the "ladder"" steps and then along the walkway below the cliff - but not when the tide is high!

Very nice beach to walk on and close to Sidmouth promenade. This is a nice walk with a lovely sunset by the sea.

We chose to walk around Sidmouth after a bad experience at Exmouth (avoid). Jacob's Ladder is a fascinating walk with lots to see. The weather was good and the views excellent. The town is full of history with good places to eat.

There is a car park opposite. The dog friendly beach area varies on time of year and is via a steep hill or steps.

Yes, please see my post. As you walk onto the beach from the East (Sidmouth) dogs are not allowed on the first third. Look straight ahead, you can see in the distance a post with a sign attached half way up the beach, from... More
