On visiting the Balmoral Castle with family, this royal treasure seeps with history. With a vast area to walk around (there’s a bus that takes you around the areas for those unable to walk far distances), this is a great location for a day trip....More

Although the day started off grey and rainy, the sun came out and we were able to really enjoy our tour of the estate. The castle is only open to the public between April and July (if I remember correctly). We were only allowed into...More

Such a beautiful and peaceful place. I can see why HM The Queen likes to escape fete in the summer months. We had a great day and enjoyed the Ballroom and wandering around the grounds. Such an individual place to visit.

Don't be put off with people saying there is little to see in the castle. Of course there is little to see, it's still someone's home! The estate is wonderful, the gardens exquisite, the audio guide very informative, lots to see and lots of atmosphere...More

I was so looking forward to this experience and it did not disappoint. From the outset the Safaari Guide, Sandy, was knowledgable, courteous, kind, helpful and ensured we all enjoyed the Balmoral Safari. Thank you so much.

Don't expect to wander around the Queen's private chambers but just accept that you're going to only have a brief exposure to the Royals. Your visit is more about the Balmoral Estate than it is about the Royal Family per se. You'll only have access...More

We expected a tour of the castle and went there as it was a rainy day. It is a tour of estate buildings with a detour into only one room in the castle, which was pretty unexciting. All windows on the castle had blinds drawn....More

The castle was built for privacy, so it is not visible from the road and the Police do not allow stopping. The only way to photo the castle is when it is open.
