Haven't been for a while but the standard was still as good. Lovely soup, great service and we shared a bit of cake with our tea. Yummy.

An eclectic mix of exhibits with lots of information about the local areas including the Romans and Hadrian's Wall and "The Carlisle Control Board" which ran most of the city's pubs and breweries until the mid 70s. Nice Art Gallery in the old Tullie House.

Wonderful fully engrossing historical experience. The well thought out exhibits and friendly, informative staff made this visit very enjoyable, there was something for everyone and even the normally non-plussed adults dressed up in the Roman exhibition for a bit of fun, a great experience, lots of ways of explaining the history of Carlisle and area, loved the Roman worms eye... Latest visit was to a curator led viewing of WW1 exhibition and showing of the Testament of Youth film. The museum covers local history from prehistory, through Roman times to the present day and puts on a constantly changing range of exhibitions as well as special events, lectures, talk, films etc.

I love Tullie House. Especially good for roman artefacts and Cumbrian history. On a previous visit I had seen the Crosby Garrett helmet which was just stunning. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The cafe is lovely and the Jacobean garden is great.

Being a local you dont often go to things on your own door step and you forget how good they are. The staff are very friendly and eager to help, there is a nice cafe and some good exhibitions.

I heartily recommend this museum. All periods seem to be represented but Roman materials are every bit as fascinating as expected. Restaurant is comfortable and food is tasty.
