Great old style pub that I used to drink in for many years. Ruining by drug filled idiots who think they can run the world. Staff are great

According to The Good Beer Guide this used to be a great pub but when we visited a couple of weeks ago we discovered, like one of the previous reviewers, that 'there wasn't much on' as the barmaid put it - no beer, just one lager. We made our excuses and left.

I visited here on Wednesday 2nd March in the evening with a couple of friends. Quite an old school feel to the place! The bar maid was smiley and friendly. 4 cask ale pumps, only 1 working, Bombardier, tasted okay! Only a few other people in the pub but the Juke Box made up for the lack of patrons! I... More

Visited this dive last night to discover they had no ales to sell. An English pub with no ales?? So the kindly bar maid offered me an Amstel Lager instead. She managed just under half a pint and ran out. A joke pub.

All I can say is brilliant! I visited tonight with my girlfriend, with a plan to stay for an hour then move onto the town, stayed there all night ! Lovely atmosphere, and live music was brilliant. From the moment I walked in I was impressed by the friendly service from the owner, very nice man, who actually took the... More

This was like walking back in time! We popped in for a quick drink before our Bodmin Prison Night Walk and could quite easily have stayed!! The Landlord was really welcoming and personable and even brought out a plate of sandwiches to share amongst his customers - not rocket science. A really lovely touch. Roaring fire and loads to look... More

The Hole in the Wall has reopened under new management. Complete refresh and change of atmosphere. Everything has been deep cleaned and rebooted. Real ales are there and are well looked after. Enjoyed a pint of Trooper this afternoon. Tribute also available. The food menu is being redesigned from scratch. The menu will be traditional pub grub and this will... More

To be honest the worst pub I've ever been in. It is ment to be a CAMRA pub but no proper beer. The staff and the managers attitudes absolutely stunk and the live music was horrendous. AVOID AVOID AVOID

The Hole in the Wall is a fantastic pub that serves great ales, has a relaxed atmosphere and a decent pool table. However, on trying out the food for the first time, simple Panini's were not done very well. Out of the four, the pulled pork was decent, although the chicken and bacon was soggy and tasteless. The chips were... More
