I stumbled into this building the other day and was pleasantly surprised to find an Andy Warhol exhibition. It's a great building with good facilities yet it's such a shame that it's tucked away. But go!it's worth regular (free) visits.

I visited today to see the new Martin Parr photography exhibition. Knowing nothing about him I had no idea what his work would be about or if I would like it. I found his work really interesting and were displayed well. My favourite parts being the 'boring postcard' exhibition with his personal collection of postcards from british seaside towns, and... Firstsite is bringing some really great exhibitions to Colchester also live streamed shows. Well worth a visit to find out whats on while you are in town. Lovely area outside to picnic.

Loved the recent Andy Warhol exhibition at firstsite. Great to see such art in Essex. Is firstsite becoming our best kept secret?

This facility offers nothing in the way of activities for young children any more . The baby changing facilities are regularly out of order/toilets blocked/closed etc. The only thing going for it is that its a big empty space so somewhere to go if the weather is bad but a walk around the whole gallery takes five mins. There is... More

Visited at 10.00 on the last day of the Andy Warhol exhibition. It was closed. Waited around for 10 minutes but not much sign of life. No interaction from staff ( walked past but no eye contact or greeting just us 2 and another lady in the building) The chap who was preparing the the Andy Warhol interactive studio offered... More

My first visit to First Site as there was nothing I was interested in here before. This was not the definitive Warhol exhibition by any means but that is not how it is advertised so fair enough. Some great pieces displayed including some of his well known iconic art. Normally you have to go to a major city like London... More

On arrival we had to walk through a group of teenagers sitting & smoking right next to the front door not a good start. Reportedly costing £28+ million pounds was spent on this rather cold & souless building with zero atmosphere. I'm all for innotive and forward thinking buildings but this has left me reeling at the cost in times... More

The exhibition we went to see was very good, fantastic building, but some where to take the kids on a visit too maybe, there would have to be something on that interests you to want to visit,
