There are no ruins just lines in the grass where old roman buildings once stood. Nor is it a park but rather a minimally maintained grass area, much overgrown or politely ‘left natural’

At last somewhere you can legitimately take your dog, and also to meet other dog walking enthusiasts represented on Facebook by the Roman Fields Dog Walking Community. Areas of Roman history indicated with white lines as you walk around this large site. Free, clean parking.

Nice flat walk in real peace, a couple of areas where past acheaelogical digs have taken place, parking can get busy at times. Great for walking the dogs.

A great place to walk your dog and meet other dogs - great to stop and chat to other dog owners. (Unfortunately a minority of irresponsible walkers don't pick up hence rating.)

Lovely field to take your dogs for a walk, very large and open with lots of paths you can follow for a different route each time. There are several bins for dog poo bags along with a large car park.

It is hard to imagine that this place was what motivated the Romans under both Julius Caesar and Emperor Claudius to invade Britain and march thousands of soldiers to Colchester. Once ruled by the first British King Cunobelin, and then the Romans, this site is...More

This is a great place to walk dogs. There are always loads of dogs BUT the beauty of the place is it has many paths and you can often be separate from the other walkers. I have been there many times with both my dogs,...More

Been past this place lots of times so decided to see what it was about. What a waste of time. It's sole purpose is for people to allow their dogs to poo. Even though most people appear to pick up the dog poo there is...More

This is a lovely big open space that is very popular with dog walkers and also has the historical element attached too.
