Saw a brilliant stage production at the Stamford Arts Centre of a little known play called the Shaughraun; an Irish melodrama and farce. The lead possesses all the traits of a true Broadway star. His stage presence can't be denied or his ability to improvise. He holds the audience in the palm of his vagabond hands which unlike his thimble... More

Stamford Arts Centre is wonderful for information, events and enjoying some good grub! The cafe serves a wide variety of drinks and food - I would recommend the curly chips. Lovely place to be for a nice wind-down with friends.

This local art centre embodies everything that is good about Stamford. Displaying and promoting so many local events and at the heart of the community. Providing a venue for local groups and organisations and a showcase for local talent. A treasure within a treasure. I thoroughly recommend a visit if you are passing through as it also houses the tourist... More

So few of the previous reviews have mentioned the origins of the Arts Centre. The "cinema" is the theatre built in the 1700s. Not a lot you can do about leg room, although there are some rear seats with more space, and also wheelchair space. The ballroom, which you might not see if you just pop in is also original... More

As visitors to Stamford we are glad to go to the Arts Centre on our visits; the town would be the poorer without it. On our most recent visit the foyer and cafe were teeming with life - aftermath of a children's' event maybe, so we went on through to the gallery where some original ceramics works were on show.... Went to see Lady In A Van. Booking online - very easy. Collecting tickets from box office - very easy on the night (no queue). Had drink from the quaint little "hatch" cafe before we went in & enjoyed tea & cake for the film - sells all you could want for a film & reasonable priced. Lovely friendly staff... More

This is a lovely small cinema, great to access if you live in or are visiting Stamford. The facilities are very good, with a small coffee shop area for drinks, light bites and cakes. The cinema itself is very nice with comfortable seating and excellent visibility from all seats.

this is a fabulous place in the heart of one of Britain's most beautiful towns ( Sir Walter Scott described the view of the town as the best place between London and Edinburgh). The AC offers a vast range of arts activities from exhibitions to classical/folk/jazz concerts as well as a well respected local theatre company, which puts on brilliant... More
