- JJ BrownCoventry, United Kingdom91 contributionsLovely stop off for a walkWe enjoyed walking the well-maintained and planted gardens, and had a round of cheaply priced crazy golf too. The crazy golf course could do with a spot of drainage improvement, but it's a great course. A hidden gem.Visited October 2020Written November 14, 2020

The park is very well kept with plenty of seating and an ideal place for a picnic weather permitting. There is also enough to keep you interested for a short visit. Centrally situated next to the town.Visited July 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten August 1, 2023
- Anna E1 contributionGreat ropes courseGreat high and low ropes course. For adults and kids. My 7 and 11 years old were too scared to the do the high ropes. The low course was more than enough for them. The 14 year old loved it all. We were there about an hour and a half.Visited August 2022Traveled with familyWritten August 17, 2022

- Tigi_Higgins764 contributionsSensory Garden a little SadWe visited today, particularly to see the Sensory Garden. The park overall is well kept, and granted in December wasnt looking its blooming best but I was a little disappointed with the Sensory Garden. The fountain wasnt working some of the mosaic tiles had been ripped off and it generally had a feel of a bit abandoned, which I suppose after 11 years happens but I do hope some money will be spent restoring it to good order. The rest of the park is lovely, lots of squirrels to watch playing and clearly some lovely features.Visited December 2020Written December 31, 2020
- macedonboyGlasgow, United Kingdom179,494 contributionsFantastic ParkLovely green park in central Taunton and bordered by the Sherford Stream, which adds to the visual appeal of the sensory garden, fountain and bandstand in the park. The sensory garden is especially nice in the late late summer we’re experiencing. Very pleasant for walking & resting. Even though it’s late summer, the grass is very green and flowers are still blooming. Close to the north entrance is also the monumental war memorial in a well tended garden of its own.Visited September 2021Written September 15, 2021

I live in Taunton and visit this park as often as possible. It's just brilliant for all ages and has so much to offer , or alternatively a place to escape and recharge on your lunch break if you're lucky enough to work nearby..... which I was for 30 years ! I often think how fortunate we are to have this facility and this is my opportunity to say so !
Obviously the annual Flower Show is a spectacle but on a dull grey day it's a pleasure to just walk around or do some people watching
Maybe I'm biased , but I love everything about this park and send my congratulations to those who maintain it to a wonderfully high standard!

We decided to go to Vivary park, Taunton on a very wet day, it's only a few miles down the road from my home in Bridgwater ,my partner loves gardens ,so we drove and parked in the multi car park opposite the park, on walking into the grounds the magnificent painted gates were huge, it's ten acres with a 18 hole golf course, a children's playground, a massive activity area with assault tree course, a stream running through with ducks,a very decorated water fountain, a lovely bandstand, small community gardens and beautiful flowers and plants around the massive area with a grass area so big that they have had music gigs there and wide paths which was good for social distancing and it was sunny on our visit and rained again all the way home

Thank you for you glowing review of Vivary Park Steve. You have described all of its charms and attractions beautifully - if I didn't know it so well already, I would after reading your review! I'm glad that the sun came out to show off this stunning Victorian park. I hope that you and partner are able to visit again soon. Thank you again for your comments.

We came here for the flower show a few weeks ago. Beautiful as always. Lots of toilet facilities, and a lovely selection of food stalls, offering lots of vegetarian meals. A really lovely day out, for all ages. Something to offer for everyone. Feels like you are at a mini festival for a day. Bonus being kids are free with an adult paying! Bargain tickets!!

Thank you for your review of Vivary Park. It is lovely to read such a glowing review of the Taunton Flower Show - it sounds as though you were able to explore all of the nooks and crannies! Vivary Park has offered this annual show a wonderfully pituresque backdrop since 1831 (apart from during World War Two) and it served it very well again this year. I hope that you are able to visit and enjoy both Vivary Show and the Taunton Flower show again. Thank you once more for your comments.

Why can't the Sunday concerts in bandstand start up now
Outdoors
Covid safe
I'm sure it would be easy to book duo s solo artists or even a spaced out jazz group. Why isn't it happening
Hi there. We are hoping to announce the schedule for the 2021 bandstand season very soon - Somerset West & Taunton council is working hard to get everything in place. Please keep an eye open for future communications!
Why are dogs on leads not permitted? They are permitted in Vivary Park normally. Dog display teams are permitted and assistance dogs so why?
Hello.
Thank you for your message. Are you questioning why dogs on leads are not permitted into the Taunton Flower Show which is held in Vivary Park? If so, the Taunton Deane Horticultural and Horicultural Society which organises the Taunton Flower Show Society enforces its Rules and Regulations amongst which is number 50: "The Society only allows visitors' assistance dogs access to The Show. DOGS MUST BE KEPT ON A LEAD AT ALL TIMES". For any further advice about their Rules and Regulations please contact the Taunton Flower Show office on 01823 332010.

Can you take chairs and drinks into the Tom Jones concert this weekend?
Hello there.
Thank you for your enquiry.
You will be allowed to take one small handbag, one unopened 500ml bottle of water and a rug/picnic blanket into Vivary Park for the concerts this weekend. There will be food and drink stalls onsite, and standpipes for refilling water bottles.

We're due to be seeing tom jones next week, where's the best place to park, and can we bring fold up chairs and water please x
Hello there,
Thank you for your enquiry.
There are over 15 public car parks in Taunton, none of which are more than a 15 minute walk to Vivary Park. Charges do not apply on Sundays. The two multi-storeys in town (The Orchard and The High Street) will remain open until midnight - the other car parks can be accessed 24/7. Further information can be found on Somerset West and Taunton Council's websites.
I'm afraid chairs are NOT permitted into the concerts - you will be allowed to take one small handbag, one unopend 500ml bottle of water and a picnic blanket/rug. There will be food and drink stalls within the park.
Enjoy the concert!
Taunton Visitor Centre.
