Great little pub
Mar 2020
Superb little bar with good atmosphere. Serves probably the best beer in Wakefield (along with the Black Rock). Always a good selection of real ales. Once in this cosy pub it's difficult to drag yourself away. No tv, music etc..., great place for a few beers and a chat.

Busy place down an alleyway off the main Street. Free WiFi. 9 handpulls. Some Belgian and German bottled beers. You can sit outside. They have their own beer brewed by five towns.

WAKEFIELD'S PREMIER DRINKING EMPORIUM ?
Nov 2017 • Friends
Always an excellent choice of real ales here, there are also lagers, which are a beer in reality that some people want to drink, and if that is their prerogative so be it, who am I or anyone else in that case have the right to critisise their choice? Staff know their customers and their wants. Prices good and realistic, makes you wonder why other bars nearby cannot offer same price, selection and quality, Product knowledge, staff training and choosing the right stat - that is the reason. Don't want to tell too many about the place as it would then looses its exclusivity

Wakefield welcome
Aug 2017 • Solo
A wonderful Wakefield diversion, only just over five minutes from Westgate station, cross Westgate itself, through an inconspicuous passageway, follow your nose, bear right and you're there.

A fairly large square room welcomes you, with the bar facing as you enter. A small amount of outside seating can handle overspill although you can normally find somewhere to perch.

A great range of very well-priced beers await and the staff are very welcoming and helpful. I came here twice when I was in Wakefield and both times were lovely. It's a really pleasant place to drink, relax and while away some time.

Another place I'm looking forward to returning and if you're in Wakefield and like a good ale, you're advised not to miss it.
