Overview
More
Naturally beautiful, with its golden sand, Sandbanks Beach has been designated by the European Commission as one of the few areas in the United Kingdom which has achieved the highest standard of cleanliness. Sandbanks has held the highly coveted international Blue Flag for the past 24 years and offers a designed area for barbeques and swimmers. New slacklining posts have been installed. Equipment is available to hire from the beach office. Activities at Sandbanks include crazy golf, a children's play area and the Sandbanks Beach Cafe. The number 50 Wilts and Dorset bus from Bournemouth Station to Swanage stops near to the beach (generally every half hour in the summer). There is a car park next to the beach that holds 550 cars, 5 for disabled use.

A gorgeous beach, with lifeguards (at certain times) - wheelchair path and wheelchair sand buggy available. Plenty of parking. Great place for all the family.

Gorgeous beach but you have to get there early as parking a problem. Everything else is perfect! Food stalls aren't very good no proper seaside chips and very expensive, especially when you have the country's best fish and chip shop a few miles up the...More

We visited with our two kids 10 & 15 months. It was very busy but space wasn't over crowded. We felt safe and able to allow the kids a little freedom at a safe distance from the water. The RNLI patrol and flag the beach...More

Perfect Sandy beach with a very gradual incline into the sea. Lifeguards in busier parts and cafes etc available. Even the public toilets are pretty well maintained...plus an ice cream boat arrived!.....and the houses....well....stunning.

Sandbanks relies on a past reputation. It does have a beautiful beach but the rest is like going to Blackpool. The front smelt of fish and chips and parking was difficult to find and when you did very expensive. The local shops were selling cheap...More

No off free-street parking that I'm aware of! Parking isn't cheap but you get what you pay for:.. as in a really lovely beach, cafe and children's pay area.
