Nice ground to watcvh a match.
Nov 2021
We visited for the Stevenage vs Mansfield game as neutrals. It was a very nice experience. The stadium is easy to find, a short drive from the M25 and has a large car park across the road which appeared adequate for the normal game, probably even if they get a bigger team coming. Entry is by bar code reader on your ticket and this is where we had our only problem. The tickets are clear on which entry to need to go in and we went in the wrong one. It lets us then we had to go out again as there was no access to our seating area from our entry point. A bit inflexible but our own fault for not checking properly.

The view was good - we were along the penalty spot on the the side closest to the away support. Stewards were fine and hot food and soft drinks were available nearby. No sign of alcohol as there was no place to drink out of sight of the pitch as per EFL rules.

Overall a nice experience.

As a local person, I have to say... It's a tremendous ground. If You were to time travel to the 80's... This team was at the very lowest level... The squad and stadium are worthy of league status

Arrived not expecting Wembley

And this is what it got!
As a local but also a visitor of a big premier league team I arrived not expecting anything spectacular and that's wha the lamex is.
Easy to find, staff and helpful enoug and the toilets are decent,
Food and drink seemed a bit pricey.
Entry was 15 quid to the standing area and the views are decent, pitch is good and fans are Friendly Enough.
after the game we visited the bar next door, 3 quid a pint, not bad value.

Welcoming
Dec 2018 • Solo
Went down for the U18 FA Cup tie against Bury and didn't really know what to expect. After a brisk walk from the town, the ground was bright and the stewards were welcoming. The food bar was open and the usual football fare was reasonably priced. It was a change to be in the main stand, which was the only one open as opposed to our usual away end, and the view was good and the locals friendly, despite it being clear I was not one of them.
One end of the ground is open as redevelopment is taking place, but it is a pleasant ground with good sightlines wherever you sit.
It is clear that there is a real community spirit at the club and I had a very enjoyable visit.

LET US IN !!!!
Oct 2018 • Friends
Travelled here for an away game versus Colchester United.
Parking easy over the road and free so no good in that respect. However it was pouring with rain and the stewards would not let us into the ground but stood watching us all getting soaked. The food on offer was normal fare but only one person serving so massive queues and the stewards in the ground seemd intent on winding up our fans.
We took a lot of away support and one end of the stand was closed off. We needed more room but fans who went into the taped off area were told to move or Police would be called. Ridiculous and a bit of sense needed to be applied.

Lovely little town football stadium, has both seating and standing stands. Serves normal greasy football fast food decently priced. Footy tickets themselves are above average considering they are league two. New stand on the way so looks pretty exciting.

Special Stevenage FC
Aug 2018 • Family
Stevenage FC is an unusual Football league club in that it remains rooted in the local community hosting mascots, school teams and their own youth teams most match days.

The stadium is set up to be family friendly and accessible to all, and its a very diverse, welcoming crowd staffed by friendly capable stewards etc.

Each stand has a bar offering hot and cold drinks, burgers and hotdogs etc. At reasonable prices. There is also a club bar behind the South Stand which sells drinks at prices cheaper than those typical across the town. It also shows live sport before and after the Stevenage games and can be hired out for functions.

Visited Lamex Stadium to watch League match versus Barnet. Result was great (4-1 to Stevenage). Entrance fee £24 is only £11 less than a ticket to Wembley stadium in a couple of weeks time to watch Spurs v Manchester City. With 3350 fans attending today’s match (only 3/4 stands open) the eat/drink kiosks are very basic - almost 30 years out of date. Appreciate money is short at the club but facilities need a major investment and overhaul.
