I visited with my 2 young children aged 3 and 5. We only had use of the Leisure Pool but both kids had a great time. The water isn't cold but once you get out you do feel the cold. Arriving early there was plenty of space for the kids to play and they loved the slide and wave machine.
The family changing rooms were spacious and plenty of lockers.
Just make sure you have coins for the locker and hair dryer.
A nice morning out very worth the cheap cost.
Lots of car parks close by and free road side parking within 5 minutes.

In the town centre and next to an expensive car park. It's very old looking and bit run down. It does have flukes that are never open. Also there are small slides for kids water splashes and a wave machine. Not to bad. The staff sent the best and can be quite rude but I would still take the kids back. The water was quite cold though

Average pool. Refurbished not long ago, waste of money as just painted it and update changing rooms!
This Is a very average pool compared to many I've been to, it has recently been refurbished and to be honest I was very disappointed to see that it was just painted and freshened up and the changing rooms renewed, I thought they would also update the actual pool (reline it and add some slides) but unfortunately it's just been painted and not at all what I would class as updating it!!

Came here with my two children in feb half term. There wasn't any lockers available as all of them were full. Eventually found one after looking for 10 minutes. The staff were less than helpful. The pool was packed. Never seen so many people. Could hardly move. There was snot in the pool and generally filthy. Only in there 10 minutes and left as we were disgusted. Won't be retuning.

My recommendation is go swimming in the local river you’ll probably live longer. What a dump Ipswich Council should be ashamed. The changing rooms where dirty with bit of paper arm bands everywhere, a few bloody plasters and the nappy bin over flowing, but I had already told little one we were going swimming. Get in the pool it was like a refugee boat had capsized just so many people in quite a small leisure pool. Find a space that little one could paddle and splash when a big green lung oyster graced our space which then stuck to littles ones swim shorts. Got out showered in Dettol came home burnt his swim shorts and both sat down for nice a Hepatitis jab. Thanks Ipswich council for a really good experience.

Travelled and paid to be given a wristband with no indication what it was for. Only to get in the pool and an hour later being told to get out as our time was up. £13.70 for an hour and two very unhappy children.

I often go to crown pools for one reason being that I get in there for free and it is local to me. I would never pay to go in this place even though it only costs a couple of quid. It has recently had a refurbishment however after this it hasn't changed how un-hygienic this place is. Before the refurbishment it had dirty yellow tiles all cracked and run down but since then it has now got dirty blue tiles. I found a spider and dirt in the pool which makes since considering whoever runs this place decided to put trees next to the pool so every so often when the wave machine goes of it drags more dirt into the pool- I don't think they ever clean this place because it smells of urine and it is incredibly dirty because every so often you fell other peoples hairs go over your foot or wrap around your legs. It seems that the staff are trained to be the most unfriendly and unhelpful they can possibly be. Even the other day when I went there the receptionist was eating a McDonalds. The worst swimming pool I have ever gone to BEWARE THIS COULD BE THE WORST SWIMMING POOL IN ENGLAND!!!!!!!!!!!!

Considering this place had a 'multi million pound' refurb back in 2012 it's really starting to look shabby already.
Peeling paint, faulty lockers, scummy walls and a wave machine that is certainly losing it's oomph! I think the refit was done on the cheap to be honest. For example some of the lighting is above changing rooms and others have no light at all.
It's such a shame as the reception staff are really friendly and do a good job but the facilities just don't match them.

Haven't been to this leisure pool for years (must of been back in the late 1990's since I last went here), but as my health is suffering a bit of late (stress), a bit a trip to the pool certainly does you good (pool use on hols always benefits my health). New changing rooms (clean) with plenty of changing cubicles, new showers (if a tad bit too hot), and the pool area - ah yes the pool area just how I remember it from all those years ago - still well maintained after all this time. Water temp just right, wave machine (adds to the excitement) and not too crowded (well it was early Sunday am around 8). One negative point is that there is no catering facilities anymore (just those 'horrible' robotic vending machines) so could not have a cup of tea after swimming in the pool - shame. Still a good place to go - one of a 'tiny number' of highlights in this rather 'sad' downbeat town now. Will return maybe after the school hols for another session!
