Great morning out

Wonderful time had at Ipswich museum. Kids loved it as did I. We learnt a lot! Free access and occasional activities (for a small fee). Our favourite place to go in Ipswich!

Who would have thought that Ipswich played such an important role into the abolishment of slavery, you learn something new every day.

The amount of history Ipswich holds is more than enough to keep you entertained! For a small price you can see everything the city holds. From its wonders of being an Anglo-Saxon hold, to it's industry evolution to today's modern advancement. I personally visited a number of the tourist attractions based on historical events and to then read up and... More

Over the years this museum has evolved and introduced new rooms. We have taken our grandchildren here more than once and they have all thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The council put on plenty of activities during the long school holidays, which again, prove very popular. Definitely recommend

The museum impressive displays showing The areas past ages, Saxon, Romans...etc. there are also some impressive models of Mammals set in scenes depicting their natural environment. There are... This is a small museum, but worth a look if you happen to be in Ipswich. Don't expect much, but it's free and has some interactive features for the kids. The taxidermied animals are a highlight.
