If you're looking for fantastic views with a little bit of a 'thrill' element, then look no further. The cable cars are a fun way of getting the summit and will show you some amazing coastal views on the way up. A word of warning, if the wind gets up they can feel a little hairy and the ride isn't cheap, particularly if you're just using it to go one way. I recommend getting a return ticket from Happy Valley.

whilst the views and the ride itself were fine, the cost of the trip for a return journey was expensive, especially when you cannot access the ride for a return journey due to some "unforseen cicomstances".Then you are left to your own devices to make your way down from the summit to the base of the "Orme",NO refunds because they say the trip down is only 50 p and this is only paid on the return, this practice is a way of conning people out of half of the fee for the ride, we will never use this ride again.

Really disappointed to walk all the way to the building only to find it's not running due to gusty winds at the top of the orme. A board at the bottom of the road might be helpful or how about getting on to social media to say if it's running or not?

You reach the cable car station after a long steep climb. Then you see the sign of Cash Only!! The sign should have been down at the bottom with a warning about the climb.

People need to be told In advance you may not be able to take the cable car back, we were sold a ticket and said we should have been told it might not be able to make it back due to high winds, paid £9 for a taxi to take us back to the car park as we had no way of getting back as we had two elderly woman with us who could not walk back up the the top of the Orme, went to speak to the woman on the desk who was very rude and started shouting at us when I confronted her about it she got very aggressive with me, we walked away very upset and disappointed with the whole experience I told her I would write a reply on here and she said it doesn't matter as they still have thousands of visitors every year.

Great experience with fantastic views.
There is a sign a the bottom saying “cash only”, although this is not highlighted anywhere else in the advertising.
Very clear signs saying what time the last ride down was.
Seemed well organised and well run although it is very unusual to find a business still insisting on cash only.

Great experience. Majestic views. Open air cable cars add to the wonderful experience. Obviously weather dependent and we had a glorious sunny day. Views from the summit too are spectacular. Great value for the return trip. Only criticism would be that they should have separate queue for people with walking difficulties. The company always try to get you back providing you join the last trip queue. The longest cable car ride in the UK and a must do attraction.

Went on these beautiful cable cars today, we were lucky not to have much of a queue. We were warned that the last car down was 4pm, then to be told the cars run till there is no longer a queue at the top (which was great for us). The reason I haven't given 5 stars is that when we were queuing at the top, to get the cars down, we were met with a gentleman very obviously under the influence of alcohol/drugs (had a 2l Lemonade bottle filled with beer *he told us it was beer*). The guy went infront of us and the lady behind the ticket counter asked me if he was drunk, I said 'yes', she then asked if he was on drugs, I said 'i'm not sure' anyway, despite the lady clearly seeing his irratic behaviour he was allowed to ride the cars.

About 1/4 the way down he then decided to get up and physically dangle himself out of the cable car🚡. This was obviously very risky and I'm surprised there are no signs saying something like 'unable to ride cable cars if under the influence of alcohol or drugs'.

Having wanted to do this for some time, finally managed it.
Trip went without issue. Paid. Went up. Enjoyed time at the summit. Came down. No issues. Would I do it again? Yes.

The good news - amazing views and it's a treat as not every day you go on a cable car.... The bad news - Some people queued for AGES only to reach the front of the queue and be told 'cash only' - derr, this is 2021 and with COVID non-cash payments are usually encouraged. For goodness sake, get a big A-Board with 'Cash only' chalked up on it so folk know at least... You pay for a return yet on a sunny day they cancelled the cable car so you have paid for a return ride you don't get! Some people were ranting at the Tram Ticket Office saying 'can we use our tickets on the tram to get down?'... Ticket guy just shrugged and said 'different company so no you can't'... Cable cars are a rip off - why not charge you for the ride up and 'if' the cars are still running later then pay for a return trip. Just feels like they grab your money knowing full well you might not get down unless you pay AGAIN on the tram... We went on a cycle event day and the tram stopped running at 2pm so some people with mobility issues would have got stranded up there! .. For goodness sake, sort it out, it's managed terrible!
