It's Late October not exactly beach weather. The majority of people stroll on the wide promenade . It depends on the tides one can walk along the by the lapping waves listening to gentle sound of water. On full tide on can sit at Splash Point hoping to get splashed by a high wave. The are railing to hold on... More

Well presented beach front and pedestrianised area. Look out for the Alice in Wonderland statues and info relating to Lewis Carroll

There's now a proper sandy area which is better than the grim "strip" that was there during my previous visit and I've heard a rumour that the Council plan to remove more of the boulders and reveal more of the sand - I hope this is true as it would be a real asset. We were here on a very... More

This is one of the worst beaches I can think of. It's a huge sweeping bay and with sand would be fantastic but it's covered with large pebbles so almost impossible for kids (and adults) to enjoy. It's actually quite difficult just to walk across and in parts the pebbles can be so steep that's it's almost impossible to access... More

A lovely flat beach that is kept clean. Good for walking along or simply lying in the sun. Loads of refreshments and things to do nearby.

Really lovely beach, every time we have been the beach is Lovely and clean and we have spotted the odd litter picker about. Some rocky parts and also some nice sandy bits too for sandcastles and sunbathing.

The beach is a long sweep of large pebbles with a sandy/muddy strip at low tide. the visitors tend to leave litter which gets blown about and shredded by the seagulls. its not a comfortable place to rest!

The promenade is very long and enjoyable and the part sand beach on the North Shore is great for kids. The tide goes out a long way and many folks are seen searching the sands for crabs etc.

I think calling it a beach is stretching it a bit far, more of a quarry if I'm to be honest. Also the view out to sea is dominated by ugly wind turbines, loads of them! And when it's low tide the whole area resembles a lunar landscape.

Absolutely perfect day out especially in the sunshine , children having fun paddling and making sandcastles, deck chairs on hire all around, everyone is friendly. Took me back to when I was younger seeing the fantastic beach atmosphere. Parking in main road only £4.50 all day, cannot grumble at that but get there early.
