Went for a drink on Friday night, two other people in the bar. I asked for a cocktail without looking at the menu, staff didn't know what it was. So I asked for a dry martini and asked what vermouth they used, they didn't know what vermouth was or how to make a dry martini! Opted for a side car as that was on the limited menu. It was terrible, I think the cognac was watered down they used a cheap triple sec as opposed to cointreau, the menu said cointreau, too much lemon juice and for some reason added slices of lime. So I ended up with a watery acidic assault on the senses, gave it back and had a beer! The staff were friendly and helpful they just have no idea how to make a cocktail not their fault they just need to be trained. I really would go somewhere else not worth the ridiculous prices for budget alcohol.

Half past 10, bar busy and great atmosphere. Mum and dad down to visit for first time in 1 year. Had first drink... not exactly cheap but happy to stay only to be told "Sorry bar is shut" Please bare in mind there are probably excess of 20 people still there but bar staff just can't wait to get home. Will not be returning.

When I got to the bar I asked for a Strawberry Daiquiri, 15 minutes later I was still waiting. I understand it's under new management and it seemed there were more bar staff behind the bar than before it was taken over. However they seemed rushed off their feet, stressed and flustered which doesn't project good customer service. Perhaps it would have helped if the new owners were the right side of the bar (behind it) instead of supervising the situation with a drink the other side of it. I met some friends of my dad in the bar who also knew the owners. They were drinking outside so I popped out to say hello, I was told in a very rude and abrupt manner by some jumped up little doorman who obviously thought he was security for Buckingham Palace and not a tiny bar in Eastbourne "to be quick". I couldn't understand why they were allowed to be outside drinking but I had to "be quick" The owners scurried off inside so they couldn't be confronted by me. I fly all over the world and go into different bars and clubs and never get spoken to or treated like that. My job is a customer faced job and if I treated customers like I was treated last night, I'd be facing some serious complaints. You have a good experience you tell a few people, you have a bad one, you tell everybody!!!! I won't be going back for a second visit!
