Poor Customer Service
Jun 2021 • Couples
Had lunch at A Drop in the Ocean on Eastbourne Pier while here on holiday. Slow service, had to wait well over an hour for food, empty restaurant so what the reason was I’m not too sure. Staff seemed very dilatory and uninterested.

Day trip to Eastbourne
Jun 2021 • Friends
Rather dreary and rainy day to visit Eastbourne but the pier was definitely worth a visit. Wonderful piece of architecture. Walked around it and popped into the Victorian tea house for a cup of tea and cake. Would recommend.

detour from a stroll on the se-front

If you love nostalgia for the old English piers then this might do it for you but for me it was a rather tired example of what's happened to old British seaside towns. There isn't much going on and apart from the views along the beach hardly worth visiting. I'm interested to see though that there appears to be some development and refurbishment going on when we were there so possibly in the future it could be more appealing with more interesting venues.

Not a lot going for it
May 2021
Walked along the pier with friends. It looks impressive at a distance but a lot of vacant shops/outlets on it and overall it felt very tacky. However great views where sitting on a bench on the pier

Old British Pier
May 2021 • Couples
Located on the main beach the 1,000 foot old British Pier built in 1870 offers some vintage features, a few shops, a tea room, and nice views of the typical south coast pebble and shingle beach which is divided by a series of wooden groynes. Plenty of car parking available at a cost of £1 an hour (cash or card payments). Some graffiti under the pier spoils the view somewhat.
Backing the beach is a promenade, lined with grand Victorian hotels and the Floral Carpet garden. A nice place for a costal stroll.

Golden roofs!?
Apr 2021 • Family
Very strange place for a mosk. Why place it in a previous night club? And why paint the roofs in gold?

Lovely traditional pier
Oct 2020 • Solo
Lovely to see a remaining pier. It is quite grand. Unfortunately the tea room and some of the attractions on the pier were not open when I visited. Lovely walk along the pier.

Pier Shut
Oct 2020
A local resident told me the pier is under same ownership as Hastings Pier. Unlike Hastings Pier It has been shut since lockdown. No one seems to know why? Most disappointing. The pier should not be promoted on Tripadvisor.
