There is plentiful free parking (and, as far as I could discern, without time limit). The Marina offers endless possibilities for waterside walks both long and short and the actual seafront is close by too. We felt that the modern, domestic architecture was entirely appropriate and largely "human" in scale. Few recently-designed locations manage to be this attractive. Not everything is modern, however, there are two Martello towers within easy walking distance.

Situated in an area of retail and residential developments, the marina is just about worth a short visit, if only to take a stroll around and look at the boats. There is a large free car park, a small retail park and restaurant area, with a variety of restaurants, most of which have outside seating overlooking the water. If you are not going there to eat (or shop) not that interesting.

A group of us (6) came down to harbour today for a sunny trip around it. The weather is glorious and perfect for a tour but yet again the harbour boat tours are not running. I was told by some local people that it is about time the business was sold to someone who was willing to run it. There were quite a few others around who were showing an interest, no signs were put up saying that they were no running but it was still advertising the trips on a board, but doesn’t actually give times.

We were passing so stopped for something to eat. I had tagliatelli, which I have not had for a long time. We'll done Pablos, it was percectly cooked in a lovely mushroom sauce. My husband had pizza fungi & loved it. We are both vegetarian so we were impressed by the choices.
Well done

When they trashed the Crumbles nature reserve to build this place, I'm pretty sure the dream wasn't to build an ASDA, Primarni, awful sports bar, crappy pub and a Harvester to cater for the boating fraternity. But that's what you get here. Incredible when many of the apartments cost close to half a million. Can do better but council doesn't seem to care.

We've been holiday renting in Sovereign Harbour for the last 20 years - in all parts of the harbour but Silver Strand and Wellington Quay being our favourites - and have always looked forward to our monthly holidays in May and September.
Years ago Sovereign Harbour used to be a special place - a boating paradise with lovely well-maintained properties and walkways, peace and calm, and smart restaurants and shops. BUT NOT ANY MORE!
We've watched it go downhill, over the last 5 years especially, but in 2024 it's now become so tacky that we've decided not to stay here again. You only have to amble along the main walkways around the whole harbour to find weeds galore, broken walling and steps, rusty railings and bridges, a dirty unkempt shopping centre and pub, litter and dog waste bins over-flowing and unemptied, dirty rendering on houses, dog dirt everywhere, shopping trolleys left everywhere, non-stop traffic and fumes to match the largest city and roads turned into car parks.
How can Premier, the Management companies that owners pay large amounts to, and the owners allow a lovely place to deteriorate so badly due to a total lack of maintenance and upkeep - and now probably to the point of no return?
A crying shame!!!

The person who runs the boat tours needs training on customer service or to be sacked which in my opinion a better choice as so very rude.
Please don’t use the marina boat tours the person who runs this tour is the rudest and most disrespectful person we have ever met.
Spoke to other people who said is heavily over priced and an extremely arrogant gentleman.
Such a shame as such a nice marina.

The Marina is lovely - no fee for parking - Great! I was with my nephew who has Autism. It was a really safe place for us to walk and see the boats and lifeboat. This was Saturday 8th February - literally a very calm atmosphere just before the storm. Great places to have a coffee and seating outside on this glorious day.

Even in these difficult times the harbour is a nice place to visit for walking and socialising. Before going for lunch we walked around the harbour and surrounding area and enjoyed the warm sunshine and luckily, not too many people being a Bank Holiday weekend.
There are plenty of restaurants, bars and coffee shops to suit all tastes when visiting here.

We have visited Sovereign Harbour Marina and love it so much looking to move house here in the future! On this visit it was a very warm day for October and we went on the 30 minute boat trip round the harbour which was very enjoyable. We enjoy eating and drinking at the various cafes and restaurants which are varied and on a good day so lovely to sit outside, like being abroad! Great shopping next door at The Crumbles. A very special place.

Yes, various cafes/restaurants to choose from but we enjoyed sitting outside a lovely café with coffee and cake, but others were ordering lunch - so anything goes!

Hi there, are there any cafes serving an informal lunch/snack that allow you to sit outside with a small dog?
Written July 10, 2016
Hello, yes there are a number of lovely places and so long as owners are responsible, dogs are very welcome. My favourite is Seasons - fabulous menu, great wines and a lovely venue.
