We saw this attraction advertised so thought we would give it a try as it was not far from where we were staying. It`s not too far past Tesco . Go at night if in the vicinity but don`t make a special trip to see as it`s not great. There was a man collecting MYR 1 per person and more to park. Malay locals always have better deals so don`t feel discriminated by it. They are mostly poor people but MYR1 is very cheap conpared to other attractions in USA or Canada. It only takes 15 mins to walk around the lights displayed on trees. The pictures make it look better than it is. As l say don`t make a special trip to see it.

This is hardly an attraction. It is 1 tree with lights hanging on it. It looks way better on pictures, so look at those and safe yourself the disappointment. You can take a 5 minute walk around it, almost trip 10 times because its dark and has a bad path. Cheater bums at the entrance will force you to pay for this free 'garden'. It was a complete waste of time and Grab fare.

Good Experience
1) Nice decorations. In the darkness night, between the trees; there is the light with different colors.
2) The sound of the ocean, making it a peaceful place to be.

Note
1) Please be aware of your steps. As the trail is a bit dark.
2) Not so much maintenance nowadays.
3) The parking is a bit tricky. If you park outside, it may cost you RM5.00 (given to some "smuggler"). However if you want to park inside (temple's compound), you need to drive between local Chinese houses.

Were here several times and the lights never failed to mesmerize me.
If you're driving to this place, there will be uncle2 pow parking fee. Way to avoid them? Park outside of the temples, just walk a lil bit further.
This place could be quite hot as people swamped in at the same time.

Not recommended. Imagine the parking hassle, and having to pay RM5 for it and you end up spending only about 15 mins at most walking around. That’s all. It’s just a small area, with friendly dogs around the temples. Please don’t drive all the way here for this unless if you are around the area.

These are the only 2 spots where you can take pic. Absolute waste of time .. it is within a temple. I heard even some of the Malaysians who visited this place for the first time , making comments about how lousy this place is. I would not recommend this place at all

Can't wait to share this with tourist fellow. Don't go to the only seafood restaurant at Avatar! The seafood stall owner is super rude! No reserve, no table, he said. We saw a few empty table. When we were about to leave, he lured us back IF we bought crab from him. Fine with us as there was no choice and we were hungry already. They way he took order is forceful! Forcing us to buy 5kg of crab! Then we order 2 kg of crab, fried prawn, fried oyster, and fried rice/bihun/kwetiau (different stall). The crab and prawn still tasted fishy! The fried bihun/kwetiau was so horrible - like it was only showered with salt water only! The price was not cheap, horrible taste and super rude seafood owner - this is the worst experience in my Penang trip!

About the garden itself, we only went to first stop only. It is dark stairs to go up and very crowded (Saturday nite), so we decided not to continue going up.

The place is not worth going anymore. Rude caretakers plus atmosphere is not the same anymore. They are charging entrance fee RM 1 which is ridiculous from the beginning. It is not that I can't pay for it. It is the way they are taking advantage of the public property which is not theirs. They explained to me that due to a change of government (From BN to PR) which is ridiculous and they implemented it since Nov 2017 (before government is changed). So their mind changed from non-money oriented to money oriented. If you argued against them, they will turn into gangsters and started threatening me. Felt cheated all these years local peoples promoting this beautiful place has turned to their greed. I am not recommending this place anymore. End of story
