Really nice sailing trip with good information and beautiful nature all the way. However, I think that a price of more than DKK 1,500 for four people is in the upper edge, and it costs the fifth star.
I agree, you get almost 31⁄2 hours of sailing, but the whole second half of the trip is actually just "home transport" to Stavanger, where there is no information or anything else on the way.

We booked this trip independently before cruising to Stavanger. It was half the price of the cruise ship excursions and we had a fabulous time. Pulpit rock is stunning and seeing the goats be fed was a highlight. The boat is very modern and clean. Only thing to be aware of is the cancellation policy, but we were well aware and chose to take our chances . We would definitely do this trip again!

The boat trip over the Lysefjord is highly recommended. There was a lot to see, from a restaurant that can only be reached by boat to a waterfall to the Preikestolen - of course only from safe heights from the water. It was also good that the entire tour was conducted in German. Here I would have liked a higher volume on the open-air deck, because everything was not always easy to understand due to the relative wind. Nevertheless highly recommended.

If you don't like strenuous shore excursions this fjord cruise with Rodne is the right option. Departure point is very easy to reach from the cruise terminal. The ship was in very good conditions and allowed a very comfortable trip. It had a bar with a variety of drinks and food. The views along the way are absolutely fantastic and the serenity of the trip is something that you won't forget. Along the way some comments are heard, announcing what we are about to see and some other general information. I was really impressed to hear that the fjord can reach a depth of 400mt. Nevertheless I agree with some other reviews that refer that there could be some more comments. The ship can go really near the rocks and we could almost touch the waterfall.
But the highlight of the cruise was to see the goats running down the mountain to meet the ship, as they know that they were going to get some food (not sure if they got the right food, but everybody was smiling with the experience).
The Pulpit Rock is a deception seen from the water level, but the overall scenery is amazing.
To summarize it was a good way to spend some hours in Stavanger with minimal effort.

The view was amazing. Never seen such sights before, so this was a great first exposure to fjords and snowy mountainous backdrops. We even saw a golden eagle, cormorants and other native wildlife. The weather was amazing at the time, definitely bring warm layers as the experience is best-enjoyed outdoors at the deck or upstairs! Also, our guides were very cool to listen to blending humour with knowledge to give us an excellent tour overall :) Thanks Daniel and crew <3

The 3-hour tour to the Lyssefjord, starting at 11 a.m., and the Preikestolen rock plateau, famous for a Mission Impossible film, was impressive. The ticket cost the equivalent of 71 euros. We booked it through the provider's website. We would like to express our thanks once again for the goodwill of the staff, as we were only able to redeem the ticket already booked one day later due to a one-day flight delay. A trip to the fjord is an absolute must if you want to visit Stavanger.

What a way to spend half a day and explore fjord from the water!
A lovely trip for our family and our 2.5 year old sun.
Trip took just under 3hours which was perfect as everyone was pretty tired after watching all the attractions.
The only disadvantage was that few of the toilets were broken, so only 2 were in use for a whole boat.

Comfortable ship, plenty of space, clean with reasonably priced refreshments available. Information shared via TV screens around the ship, and commentary.
Interesting but not exciting! If you want excitement go for a rib ride!
Well worth doing, if like us, you're visiting on a cruise ship and have limited time. More cost effective to book direct than with the cruise line, although be wary of timings.

This is for the fjord cruise out of Bergen to Mostraumen. Overall would highly recommend if this is your only opportunity to cruise a fjord while in Norway. However from taking the ferry from Flam to Bergen two days before, this seemed a bit lackluster. The waterfall though at the village of Mo was spectacular though.

Super beautiful and fun cruise up the fjord. The boat is modern and very comfortable. We found relaxing seats inside, and also spent some time out on the deck. Everyone loved it. 3 hour round trip was the perfect amount of time.

We're choosing a Norway Fjord Cruise for June 2020; think it'll be Holland New Statendam . Heard good things about Rodne tour co. Does anyone know if Rodne does shore excursion/ tours for other Norway ports of call besides Stavenger? Any other tips for a June Fjord trip will be greatly appreciated.
Written December 8, 2019
We very much enjoyed the Stavanger Fjord Cruise, but I am not aware that company has other port cruises or excursions. We did use Norway Excursions for Geiranger and Alesund. I highly recommend that company for its tours, they were excellent. We did the Path of the Trolls on a Royal Caribbean excursion. If HAL offers that option, I recommend that one.

We will be on Celebrity Cruises June 27, 2020 Norwegian Fjords Cruise. In Stavenger, the cruise line is offering a 1 pm boat excursion to Lysefjorden which is more expensive than if we booked with Rodne directly for their noon excursion. Since it seems your office is where the cruise ships dock, are there other advantages to booking with the cruise line, such as a larger boat with more outside seating or less people? Thank you. The Davis Family

We were on the Royal Caribbean ship and booked direct online with the boat before we arrived. The main difference having spoke to passengers who took the ship excursion was they went ashore for a short while to have some food, think crepes. Wow more food after a big breakfast !! From our perspective the real advantage of booking with the boat was we were able to queue early and get the perfect seat outside ie under cover. With a ship excursion it tends to be more pot luck to be at the front of the queue

Hello. My friend and I are interested in the Mostraumen roundtrip cruise in October. We will be flying in from Tromso, arriving 12:35, and then taking the light rail to Byparken, which I believe is then a short walk to the wharf. I am reluctant to buy tickets in advance in case we can't make the 14:00 departure. What is the likelihood of this cruise selling out in October? Also, can we board the cruise with a small (carry-on size) suitcase. Thanks.
Written August 16, 2019
Hi, I would say you would be able to take a small carry on case with you as there is plenty of room on board. I can’t say if it will be sold out in October- the website says to book 2 days in advance. Perhaps you could ring and book or try to book on line when you land and are confident of making it in time. The Byban takes 45 minutes to Bergen but Airport Express bus is about 20 minutes. You can buy a ticket at the airport or on the coach and they cost 170kr one way.

Good day!
I’d like to book excursion Pulpit Rock Cruise and Hike on the 10th of June for 2 adults and one child (age of 12), could you please tell me does the excursion often ends on time? We travel by cruise ship, so can we be sure that at 18:00 we will be in the town in aim to board our ship that leaves at 19:00?
Written May 28, 2019
My cruise did not include the hike, but my daughter did the hike and was late getting back to the dock by 45 minutes. I was really happy with the cruise, so I probably wouldn't risk missing your ship for the hike. I'd say, just take the fjord cruise and skip the hike.

I would like to know how far from the cruise port to the Rodne fjord cruise port? Is it within walking distance of shoud we look for transportation? We are arriving in June. Thank you
Written March 11, 2019
Very short walk from the main square to the Rodne boat (perhaps 50m) and the cruise port is probably next to the ferry or on the other side of the dock (add 200m)

We are interested in booking this activity as well. I imagine it would take us the 4 hours to hike plus an hour or so extra because I like to stop and take pictures and enjoy the summit. Did you find it easy to make your way back by bus and ferry? I'm anticipating making it back on the second to last bus of the evening, but worried what will happen if all the buses/ferries are full? Don't want to be stranded!
Written July 26, 2018
My friend and I took longer to climb up than expected (about 4 hours, though I did it in 3). We spent about 45 minutes at the top. It took us about 2.5 hours to get back down. We had a little time at the bottom waiting on the 20:20 bus to get us to the Tau ferry. The bus scheduled is tied to the ferry schedule, so as long as you make the bus you make the ferry. If you are worried about timings and want to be more leisurely then I would suggest splitting the two activities.

*Likely to sell out: Based on Viator’s booking data and information from the provider from the past 30 days, it seems likely this experience will sell out through Viator, a Tripadvisor company.
