Stavanger: Waterfalls, Caves and Rock Tour By Sea

Make the most of your time on shore in Stavanger by getting back out onto the water on this guided boat tour. Sail into the Lysefjord to soak up the scenery of mountains, waterfalls, and tiny islands, and see such world-famous attractions as Pulpit Rock (Preikestolen). Also visit Vagabond's Cave, which legend says was named after a group of vagabonds who hid there; see goats at summer pasture, and taste clear mountain water from the Hengjane falls.

This was so much fun. A great little visit whilst down in the centre of town. We went there with our two kids. They loved it! Especially the oldest one. A great way to learn more about our history. And it was such a lovely boat with the carvings and all. AND the gift shop. LOVED the gift shop. Great stuff for both young and old and at really good prices.

VR Viking experience, could have been longer and/or more interactive, but highly recomended. Tells the story of local viking saga events.

We visited as the last cruise liner to be able to one ashore before Norway closed ports How lucky were we As a wheel chair user I was gratified that access to this attraction was made into an easy fashion The staff were most helpful in ensuring my safe entry into the tour and also ensuring the headphones and glasses were in the correct position to enable me to experience what was an amazing highlight of my holiday Thank you and Thank you to Norway for being so wheel chair friendly Highly recommend

Having spent time wandering around Stavanger, I had a short amount of time to spend before having to return to my cruise ship. I decided to do the VR experience at the Viking House. This is a short VR movie that describes the saga of Harald Fairhair and you sit in a mock Viking longboat whilst the film plays out via your VR headset and headphones. The staff at the experience were very helpful and friendly and although short, it was a great experience. Once the film had completed, there was an opportunity to sit on the throne at the end of the ship and hold a replica Viking sword. Outside the experience is a small gift shop with well priced gifts. I would recommend this if you're in Stavanger and have a bit of time to spare.

I was lucky to get to try the VR-experience at Viking House on a business trip with upnorway.com to Stavanger. The experience felt surrealistic and it was super exciting to be able to feel as if I was a viking while old sagas were illustrated and told. Has to be experienced to be understood. The shop, the wooden carvings and the service also added value to the experience.
