I had booked Norway in a Nutshell online months before we arrived. When we checked at the tourist office for other things to go do I mentioned that we had already purchased our tickets and for which day. The tourist office employee stated that there was a landslide and they were cancelling that trip we should book something else. It... More

I can judge only the part between Norheimsund and Kvanndal. The route offers magnificient views of steep slopes of surrounfing mountains. Small villages crammed up to the fjord are enchanting. If you can choose whether to take bus or train between Bergen and Voss, go by bus.

Rained all day but it was still a magnificient drive. Left Bergen on Route 7 to Norheimsund, ferry to Jondal, Route 550 to Utne and Odda, then Route 13 back to Route 7. 360 kms and 11 hours of twists, turns and tunnels. Worth the effort.

Not much to add really as sometimes Mother Nature speaks for herself. We drove along route 7 and then 48. Narrow ride and a bit hairy when facing oncoming (Lorries) but views were staggering.

We were fortunate to be able to cruise on the fjord - majestic, beautiful and scenic. It is also very peaceful.

I couldn't believe how beautiful this fjord was. We took the 925 Skyss bus from Voss and stared at the views in amazement. We stayed in the tiny town of Steinsto and did some hiking.

The further in, the more serene and beautiful it gets, with green meadows, lovely houses, and rock cliffs.

A stunning place to visit. The majesty of the glacial valleys, sheer cliffs, pictureque villlages, clear water & just the sheer scale of things is a stunning sight.

Whetheer you go along rv 7 from Norheimsund to Granvin, and crossing the Hardangerfjord bridge, or if you prefer a ferry crossing from Tørrvikbygd-Jondal, or Kvanndal-Utne-Kinsarvik you will find wonderful fjords, mountains and villages along the way. Ulvik, Jondal, Eidfjord or Kinsarvik are all worth a stop along the way. You will not get to see much when driving through... More

The Hardangerfiord is one of the most spectacular fiords of Western Norway. And what is special: well we have the great glacier of Folgefonn, which can be seen both from the western and eastern side of the Fiord. We have the spectacular farms high up the mountain side, which were established hundreds of years ago, to avoid the Taxman. Kjeaasen... More
