Norwegian people used to name this fjord as the Queen Of Fjords. We booked a private tour from Bergen there. The most impressive - it was Steindals waterfall. We walked behind falling water staying dry feet! Our guide brought us to the Gold-fish lake. You...More

We visited the Hardanger Fjord as part of a cruise and I would say its probably the best way to see all the specular scenery. It was a clear, spring day with hardly a cloud in sight so the views were amazing.

This was a long trip starting from Bergen. Although the scenery is lovely, it was not breathtakingly beautiful and I have seen better scenery in the UK and Canada. I was a bit disappointed having seen all the raving reviews. I was expecting something spectacular....More

We did this as part of a shore excursion. We took a ferry for part of the fjord but did most by land. It was a very long day. The views are beautiful, but I think after seeing so much beauty, you become a little...More

It makes economic sense to rent. You don’t need a big car here as the speed limit is low and speeding fines the highest in the world. Many great places to experience on that route.

Autumn clothes. It might be about 10 to 14 degrees in the day but it can be chilly and you must reckon on wet weather! Wet weather is the key! You may be lucky and catch an Indian summer but reckon on the former!
