Beautiful scenery

Our motorcoach tour took us through the Mabodal Canyon to this fjord. Beautiful scenery; so peaceful. Enjoy the narrow roads and tunnels!

We took by car road 7 from Bergen via Norheimsund then along Hardangerfjord with really beautiful views, the other side of the fjord is great place for hiking, especially around village Kinsarvik (road 13) - you can go hiking to see 4 waterfalls or take HM Queen Sonja's panoramic hike - from Kinsarvik to Lofthus - this hike is absolutely... The drive to the Hardanger Fjord is long and tiring with great care needed on the narrow roads and many tunnels. It is worth the effort as the Fjord is beautiful and the water clear. Clearly the best visit is one on a Sunny day and we were fortunate to have this. There are places along the way to rest... More

We crossed the fjord on one of the ferries, on the way to Bergen. Only about 15-minutes or so, but the weather was perfect and the water so calm and peaceful. The two towns we crossed from/to were quintessential Norwegian fjord towns, picturesque.

Beautiful scenery. We were on a cruise ship so we were able to see the fjord coming in and leaving. If not on a ship, recommend trying to take a boat and cruise the fjord.

The area is beautiful and the relatively new bridge is a lovely wisp of architecture. Coming down from the plateaus is a great perspective.

The highlight of our trip was renting a car in Stavanger and driving the length of the Hardangerfjord inland to Kinsarvik, staying the night, then driving to Bergen. Stop at every waterfall, take in the scenery, and enjoy this part of the world where a superhighway is a two-lane, undivided road with a speed limit of 45 mph.

A long day of travel was worth it for the spectacular views by train, bus and boat. We went with Hardangerfjord in a Nutshell and it was an easy way to see the fjord from Bergen. Be prepared for people lining up to get the best seats on the bus, boat, etc; but if you can accept this, it can... More
