A perfect end of the day in Bergen

We ended our visit in Bergen by hiking up to the top to see the sunset. Maybe we should have brought an extra jacket, but it was well worth the visit!

good views from top but area very rocky and steep in parts. not easy to walk around. view is spectacular ..i found it quite expensive for what there is to do. it is not suitable for people who are not very mobile. cafe has spectatcular views of surrounding area and serves meals and drinks. it has outdoor tables and chairs... We spent 160NOK to ride the Ulriken643, not the cheapest ride by normal standards, but the view this provides is amazing! There's nothing to do up there, but the ride is refreshing as it is beautiful. One word of advice is to go early in the morning and on an off-peak period so that you can avoid taking the ride... A good place to take a hike too/from, much more exposed than Mount Floyen so avoid on very, very cold and/or windy days as a result.

The station at Ulriken has incredible views - on a very clear day you can see a nearby glacier and the start of the Hardangerfjord. Sure, the cable car ride up is slightly terrifying, but on a beautiful day it's worth it.

Whether you walk up or take the cable car, Ulriken is always worth a visit. You see the magical surroundings of Bergen, you feel like the town is yours. Furthermore, Ulriken is the best start to explore the other mountains (Rundemanen, Blamanen) so if you´re into hiking, don´t miss it.

We took a cable car, cause we were to lazy to climb, and we were surprised, that here just the tourist use this attraction, the locals all climb moi=untain from 4 years til 95! We were lucky, it was sunny so we could see how beautiful i Bergen!

1st day we were at Bergen we decided to take the blue Mt Ulriken bus near the Tourist Info Center by 8.30am but after half hour wait, there was no buses to be seen. So by 9am I went to the Tourist Info Center to buy tickets and they suggested I wait a bit more around the corner as the... More

Up on Mt. Ulriken you have a great view on Bergen. The easiest way to reach the top of the mountain is to take the Ulriksbanen. From the summit station I hiked to Mt. Fløyen on a trail which is 13km long and offers amazing views on Bergen. On the whole path your are surrounded by beautiful nature. It took... More
