"WHO WE ARE AND WHAT YOU CAN EXPERIENCE..." AN EXPERIENCE THAT GUARANTEES A DESIRE TO LEARN! Male penguins sometimes adopt eggs and become the world's best "mothers", some turtles can breathe through their backsides, the plastic we throw away every year creates a sheet in the ocean as big as some countries, and spiders use hydraulics to move: after a visit to the aquarium, you'll definitely know something you didn't beforehand. And you'll know it with your entire body - not just your head. At Bergen Aquarium, children and adults alike can see, touch, read about and follow the animals and aquarium keepers at close range. You can watch shows and feedings, and see how fish and animals act when in their element. Bergen Aquarium has been a must-see institution for visitors and residents alike since 1960. It's situated a short way from the centre of Bergen, in a fantastic parkside location with a view out over the seaward approach to Bergen from all sides. There's good food, too: Biologen Akvariet is a brasserie offering proper food made with proper ingredients. It'll give you energy for the whole visit, and then some.

We had heard a lot about the aquarium and dropped by when the opportunity came up. it was a nice place, with lots of sea animals, of course, but also a few others. We truly enjoyed both the exhibit and the 10-minute sea lion-show, so...More

This was an interesting little stopover on a rainy Sunday, but it cost around $85 CAD for two adults and there were only a handful of tiny aquariums to look at. (I didn't mind paying this price, because it does go to conservation...so...I'm going to...More

Hello. Thank you for your visit and feedback. Nice to see that you have noticed that we are in the conservation program of the Philippine crocodiles and others. Have a nice summer!

This is a small aquarium at end of bergen city. The sea lion and penguin feeding shows are interesting. The scale is much smaller compared Seaworld in US but price quite expensive.

We are seniors and have been to many zoos and aquariums and were not sure what to expect from the varied reviews on this one. However, we ended up delighted and so glad we visited. We enjoyed the many displays of all types of fish....More

Thanks for your feedback. Unfortunately, we do not have much space, but try to make the best of it and even think we have a large selection of fishermen from all over the world. The aquarium is a foundation and "living" of ticket revenues. Have...More

This is only a small place, but the main building which houses the exhibits is well designed. Yes it's an aquarium, but also has a fair selection of reptiles. If you've been to the London or Atlanta aquariums you'll find this somewhat less exciting, but...More

As this was billed as one of Bergen's top attractions, we expected it to be a high quality, modern, educational and animal welfare-focussed aquarium. What we found was more like a throwback to a 1960s zoo, with animals in poor and cramped conditions, trained to...More

Hi, sorry you did not like you here with us. We can make sure all our animals are doing well and nobody needs to do anything to get food. Our sea lions as the audience can participate in training every day, are stimulated and need...More

This was of average size and overall scale but delightfully entertaining. Each exhibit was prepared with kids in mind. Lot's of neat underwater viewing opportunities were available within the hugh tanks. We especially enjoyed the view from underneath the aquatic displays. Regardless of age visitors...More

My 3 year old daughter loved the penguins and the sea lion show, and generally had fun at this well maintained but relatively small aquarium. It was perfect for a rainy morning in Bergen, of which there are many. We also had a nice meal...More

The Bergen Aquarium expectedly displays polar marine life such as penguins and seals, but it also has a tropic section. We arrived on time for the penguin feeding time and could see some activity although they did not seem very hungry. A basin with seals...More
