I visited with my partner and was warmly welcomed upon arrival. The ice bar itself is excellent, with fantastic music, drinks and service. The equipment (poncho and gloves) provided keeps you plenty warm enough.
I would recommend going for the 299NOK option as you get a second drink at a discount rate over the 250NOK option.
Thomas was particularly helpful and friendly, offering to take a picture of us without being asked and taking the time out to chat with us about our time in Norway. A big thank you to him as he really made the visit that much more enjoyable.

It’s quite a walk from Bryggen area of Bergen, the ferry does not run at weekends apparently. It’s not very big inside, but has mood lighting and various ice structures to look at.
You can sit on the sheepskin rugs and enjoy your drink at an ice table and chairs, which is fun.
Relatively expensive, as we paid approx £25 each and were there 30 max, but Norway is expensive and it was something we all wanted to do, so was happy to pay for the memories.

Nice to visit, but relatively expensive. Would have been great to visit when there was a lot of people there however when we went in on a Saturday night at 8.00pm there were only 2 others there! Gave a chance to check out the ice scupltures etc but did dampen the atmosphere. 'Cool' place to visit for an hour though.

Our experience at the Magic ice Bar was very good. Michele was very friendly and attentive. Great service, prices can't say they are expensive or cheap. 560nok for the 2 of us including 2 drinks each. Anywhere you go in Bergen for 4 drinks more or less 400nok so just 160nok for the entry.
Totally worth it in my eyes.
Michele keep up the good attitude and service, and it's been a pleasure.

Lots of fun for an off the beaten path stop. Small bar inside but fun and interesting ice carvings/sculptures with cool accent lighting. The drinks are very tasty as well. Staff friendly and helpful. Worth the price for a 30 minute stop and drink.

This ice bar is the most original bar in Bergen. Temperature inside is around -5 C. We got warm coats and gloves from the bar staff. It was comfortable to sit on the chair made from ice and drink local cocktail looking at ice sculptures!

Amazing place with really friendly staff, the sculptures are unbelievable and the atmosphere is excellent too.
The only two things that let it down are, the lack of options on the cocktails and no flexibility to make your own. Especially given the price paid which is the second one.
Personally feel you should have the option to make your own or a larger variety of cocktails on offer .. but overall still a fantastic experience and I would definitely recommend and visit again.
We visited the Ice bar in Reykjavik.

Great ice bar, some of the packages are reasonable prices (for Norway!) - you pay about the same for the drinks as you would in a normal bar....but get the experience of the ice bar. Jackets and gloves provided and it's really big inside. It's a bit off the beaten track - but worth finding!

Great ice sculptures. They give you big jackets to keep warm. The cocktails in ice were super fun and tasty. I've been wanting to do something like this for quite some time. Glad I chose this one for my first time.

This is a different experience, but a really good one.
The people in the bar are very nice, and the place itself is wonderful, with ice sculptures and art. Note that you can't stay very long as it is difficult to stand the cold.
You can use the ticket more than once the same day.
Drinks were delicious!

Will they now give refunds for pre-purchased tickets because of the coronavirus?

Hello,
If someone could answer my questions, it would be much appreciated.
1. How far is it to the bar from the cruise ships in terms of miles.
2. Is there an age limit or can anyone go? Will have a 13 and 14 year old.
3. When you buy a ticket online is it for a specific time or just good for entry that day.
4. Can you buy online if cruises are in port or have to walk up if not part of an excursion?
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Hi
The ice bar is about 2km from the cruise terminal. Will take you about half hour - it’s down one side of the port, passed the fish market and back the other side.
Age limit is 4+ so you should be fine.
We booked our trip as part of a city tour from the cruise port. If you book independently I guess you book for a specific time to avoid overcrowding. You can take the chance of turning up if it’s not too busy you should get in.
Enjoy your trip.

Hello, what is the best day and time to visit when the cruise ships are not in port?
Marie K
Bergen, Norway
Hello Nancy,
Any time of the day when no cruise ships are in port!
We are going towards low season so then there is no need for reservations unless you are part of a big group. Just come as a drop-in whenever you want.
If you like to be around lots of people we recommend the last hours before closing, and weekends in general. For families, the best time is around 16:00-19:00.

Not far and definitely walking distance. We paid on arrival which was midweek when they opened at 11am. Enjoy, it’s great fun!
Do they take walk-in or have to go with the cruise reservation? How much is the door admission if walk-in? Thanks.

You can walk-in, only thing is that if there are any prebooked tours they take priority. That wasn’t a problem when we went though, the staff are very accommodating.
Price works out at about £20 each (or £25 if you have 2 drinks).

We are arriving on a cruise ship we were thinking we could just walk over and enjoy the delights of the Ice Bar.
Would you recommend that we book in advance or is it ok just turn up.

Hello!
We do not take reservation while a cruise is in harbour, only drop-ins (except for excursions which has booked in advance).
Send an email to bergen@magic-ice if you are wondering which time of the day it would be best to visit to avoid the excursion groups.
Hope to see you at the bar! Have a wonderful day.
