i really wanted to visit trondheim in a unique way, and what better way then by the water? You realy get to see a side of this city, built around a river, that is more unique and the tour was so much fun. We took the bus to get to the center further up the river and the instructor gave a quick security and information speech before sending the entire group on the water in kayak for 2 persons. Being a group of 3 friends, i got my own kayak which was very nice. Once on the water you just glide with the stream, slowly paddling towards the city, and once the tour is finished, the instructor is there, helping you carry the kajak 10 meters to his trailer. This tour was really fun and does not demand a lot of experience with kajakk nor a high level of physical fitness. Really anyone can do it and it was a fun experience which resulted in beautiful pictures and found memories with my friends. I highly recommend.

A nice and exciting way to discover the city and the nature along the Nidelva river. Starting point was not far from Trondheim city centre, we can reach it easily by bus (only 5-6 stops by bus No. 1, 2 or 10). We were not experienced kayakers at all but the tour was absolutely safe and manageable for beginners without an instructor. The staff told us all the necessary things at the site in 15-20 minutes, gave us dry bags for bags/phones and life jackets, and then we could take the kayak and go on our own! The tandem kayak itself was heavy and although the river was tranquill, paddling for 1-1.5 hour till Trondheim Skansen (the endpoint) also required a good physical condition, we are young&fit and use to do sports but we got very tired till the end of the tour (it was more tiring than kayaking in a single kayak). We did not have a drysuit or any special clothing but we did not get wet in the boat, just some small drops came here and there. I highly recommend this experience!

My friend and I decided to make a Winter-Kayak Tour with trondheimkajakk.no to have the possibility to see Trondheim also from another perspective. Our tourguide Philipp welcomed us really professional with a good introduction what we will do during this tour and what we should do during our stay in the water. He gave us some dry-suits and then we already started the adventure. Even if we both never did kanuing before we felt really save and in good hands.
The trip was really beautiful and I would definetly recommend it. Philipp also told us something about Trondheim during the tour and also answered us a few questions we had regarding the city. It was a really uncomplicated and calm trip with a stunning view over the old city and also the nature of Trondheim. We are really happy that we participated at this tour and still talk about it. It was a really nice experience.

We did an afternoon classic Tour which took around 2h. No hurry on the timeline! Very easy and relaxing tour also good for Kayak beginners. You‘re doing the tour on your own after getting all necessary instructions. The tour starts at the outskirts brings you around the old town and ends in the guest harbor close to the Restaurant Lille Skansen. Great views. Great time!

Amazing experience in any kind of WEATHER! Great and motivating guide! It was snow and when we started, I was even hesitating. Phillip, our guide, explained in details how the trip is going to be. And suddenly we were enjoying the sun and almost no wind while paddling "through the history". I felt totally safe, warm and happy all the way! Beside that Phillip is a extremely good in taking pictures, we also received a bonus at the end of the route - enjoying the sea waves and the unforgettable view! Thank you so much for this fantastic trip!

The whole trip was amazing.
The first part with sight of a lot of birds along the river side, and furter down the view of the city, the Nice house’s and the «canal feeling» while we padle in the end ,- by the lighthouse and the journey end’s at Skansen ,-where all the sailboats is.
Nice trip we recomand at your stay in Trondheim.

We had the BEST time kajakking down the river with Trondheim Kajakk! Our instructor guide was so friendly, welcoming and knowledgable. Tickets were easy to book. All gear is provided (including a dry bag to hold personal belongings onboard). The route will depend on the day, but we started at the facility and finished on the other side of the city where there was an option to do a sauna, or warm-up in the café. Would absolutely recommend 10/10.

It was really nice to see the city from another angle, and we had a great and safe tour with very stable kayaks. Even my mother (72 years old) was thrilled, and would love to to the trip once more with her friends.
Wear warm clothes (wool underneath a water proof jacket), a hat and gloves if in autumn. As a non-experienced paddler, I had quite a bit of water dripping from my paddle, and I was glad to wear water-proof trousers. We used 1:45 from start to end, taking a lot of pictures on our way. Trondheim Kayak provides dry sacks if you want to bring extra clothes.

I went kayaking with Filip from Trondheim Kayak as part of a Hurtigruten trip and thoroughly enjoyed it. The kayaks were very solid and therefore not too tippy, and we were given drysuits as it was winter, so we stayed warm and dry. We did a slide-in launch, so again no chance of falling in or getting wet. Filip was very helpful and informative. The trip was 8km long but there is a good current to push you along.

I’m going on a Princess Cruise and would like to get a guided kayaking tour but we would need to be picked up from the port and taken back to the port after the kayaking. Will this we possible to get the pickup and drop off? We would be able to get off the ship at a 11am and need to be back by 3pm. Is this possible to do this trip?

Bonjour,
D'avance merci !

I am going on the Hertigruten and this trip is one of the options. Its $209 Australian to do the trip and from the reviews it looks to be 2-3 hours long. Are there longer trips on the Nid as well? Is it a better option for us not to book through the tour company but to sort out a kayak trip upon arrival?
