No entry fee, just walk in and walk round. We visited in winter, and all the buildings including the cafe and toilets were locked, yet it was still possible to fully explore the grounds and soak up the atmosphere, with great view back over Trondheim.

Small hill with Old fortress was worth visiting. Even though the weather wasn’t good we had amazing time with wonderful view over the city of Trondheim.

if you are into old military uniforms, cannons, swords and everything in between, this is the place to go. Great views as well. Surprisingly low height considering how tall most Norwegians are !
