Open in winter
Jan 2021 • Couples
Brekkeparken is a beautiful open-air museum and a park at the same time. The exhibit features original well-preserved heritage homes that have been moved to Brekkeparken. It is best visited in summer when local and international visitors could book a tour. It is free to enter the premises. It is also open in winter and anybody can enjoy a peaceful walk around the park. They also have a view deck in the vicinity of the Brekkeparken cafe.

A must see
Aug 2018 • Friends
This is definitely one if the biggest "must see's" when you visit Skien city. It's a nice walk from the city center, and you can end it with a visit to the park's cafe.

Nice park to wonder about
Aug 2017 • Family
It is a nice park and a glimpse of Skien (Norwegian) folk history. Not very large, but can enjoy the park atmosphere. For kids the playground is great, usually many children.

Brekkeparken is a museum with typical norwegain buildings from the 1600-1900. The place is also combined with a stage

In the summer it is conserts on this Place every thursday. It is a resturant on the Place so you can buy something to drink or even something to eat. On this conserts it can be a very good atmosphere. It is worth a visit. The conserts are With local People /bands from the Southern Norway.
The museum part is also very good. It shows very good how people in Norway lived in the period 1600-1900. It looks very simple how they lived nowadays. But in real the most people lived even more simple. The income for ordinary citizens at this time was not so impressing. People was what you call poor . Are you interested in history - then you sholud take a visit to Brekkeparken.

Relaxing, nice view

This is a park located near the city centre in Skien. It is on the top of a hill, so you get beautiful view overlooking Skien. In the summer, there are some ducks in a pound (do not feed them!). Inside the park, you can find Telemark Museum, there are an entrance fee to get in the museum. Guides at summer, at least English-speaking, but some years also other languages. Check their website.
Beautiful flowers! The gardener really puts her heart to do the park a sight! Near May 17., the Norwegian national day, there will be thousands and thousands of tulips blooming.
A little kiosk at the main entrance, where you can buy soda and ice cream and get some information. Toilets several places. A cafe with a beautiful view, sodas, beer/wine and they also serve dinner and light meals.
At summer, there is a jazz concert every Thursday night. Very popular amongst the locals.
Aksessible with Wheel Chair/stroller.

It was a nice park connected to a museum with some exhibits outside. The cafe had a nice view and good looking cakes. They have jazz concerts during the summer.
